Maidana's bet could pay off, but IMO I would want to slow a man down who is a lot faster than you.

Even with 14 ounce gloves, Maidana can hit Khan, he's not a defensive genius, and one punch could do it. 1.5 ounce smaller is not as as big an advantage as 1.5 ounce lighter gloves for 12 rounds.

Holding up 8 ounce gloves is easier, hurts more, and is faster over 12 rounds.

That 1.5 ounce less protection on each glove IMO is not as big a difference as the above.

Heck if Maidana KO's Khan, I doubt that extra padding would have saved him.

That's true, but do you not think he will hit Khan's chin at some point?

I question if Khan can take pain, and I had a dream that his right arm got broken in half and he jabbed his way to a win.

Then I woke up and thought, ****, Khan don't want no pain LOL.

khan will get hit at some point. that's why i would understand why maidana might want smaller gloves.

I agree, but personally I would want to make Khan slow down and that way I can hit him more.

I guess let's see if his plan works, although I feel a KO will happen with these or without.

getting hit more can slow you down...........

Wait a minute, the real issue is why has Khan been fighting with 9.5 ounce gloves this whole time. Why does Reebok not make 8 ounce gloves? You'd think that Khan would have been fighting with 8 ounce gloves this entire time if it is so much better for him as he claims. I understand contracts and such, but you'd want to have every advantage.
