    Sergio Martinez is overrated.

I see him being overrated. I mean, he's a good fighter and is tough but he lacks fundamental boxing skills and he isn't really the superstar they the have started selling.

He beat Pavlik yes, a very slow fighter and obviously not in the better shape of his career both mentally and physically and yes he knocked Williams out cool but I'm very surprised we waited for so long to see someone doing that to him, the guy is only "height and reach" end of the line.

Williams used to dominate smaller and slower boxers with his height, reach and volume punching and in the process looked superman, but all was smoke and mirrors + HBO.

Ironically exact at the same moment that Martinez knocked out Williams he was wide open also for a counter meaning a faster and more accurate fighter could caused the same result against him. He drop his hands way too much and his defense is bad at best. How many of you guys remember in the way he was knocked out by Margarito? I strongly believe that the result would be the same in a rematch any day with the same Margarito that fought Manny Pacquiao.

his defense is somewhat overrated I would agree only to that but saying that he lacks fundamental boxing skills is ******. Martinez boxing ability and his timing is the truth Margarito had non and he was the one that was seriously overrated

I guess that's why the jr middleweight champion Pacman won't fight him any higher than 147 then right??I bet when Floyd returns he will not even mention Martinez's name!!Overrated fighters get credit for beating punching bags, like this years version of Margarito!!Fighters that beat the middleweight champion & sleep the Punisher deserve all the credit in the world though!!

Yes he is being overrated at this time.

A quick knockout over anybody, despite who they are, doesn't really prove anything. He landed a great shot, but we didn't get to see a display of his skills as the fight was too short.

So overated that he had to fight in obscurity because the "top guys" were afraid to fight him? So overated that people call him out and run when he says let's do it......with a name like Marvelous, how can he be overated?
