Well in a promoter's aspect of it De La Hoya might not be up to the standards that Arum would be.

But to say "he doesn't understand boxing" is just ludicrous as Hoya is THE CASH cow that made Mayweather and Pac BIG names. Especially when you think of "money". He KNOWS enough to be ranked amongst the greats INSIDE the ring and knows enough to make more money than MOST any boxer out there and no matter who fights him will ALWAYS receive the BIGGEST pay day they ever had even when taking a far less share of the pot. De La Hoya is like Mayweather when it comes to Bob. A fighter that started out with him and made so much more money when leaving him. He is a bitter old man.

Now weather De La Hoya and Arum agree on things is a different story. Then again, nobody has agreed on much when it comes to Arum besides a few *******s when selecting subpar shyt bags instead of the elite fighter for Pac to face.

Bob's a vet but he's not anywhere near the level of De La Hoya who's been in BOTH sets of shoes and actually "KNOWS" boxing. not just the politics of it that Arum knows. Again, Bob's just bitter.

Arum has no room to talk crap. 99% of his fight cards are boring as can be. Just the other day he said he won't allow Pacman to fight at a catch weight against Marquez, but what the hell has Pacman been fighting at for the last couple of fights? Catch weights. . . . . . . Arum only matches his fighters so he doesn't have to share the wealth. Put Manny in a fight and make him weigh in at the real weight and you will see a different outcome.

This is why Pac should do what Hoya and Mayweather did.

Leave Arum and promote himself these last few fights. Promote and actually fight the best not who Arum "picks".

I agree, think once a fighter breaks into a level of fame he should be his own man and be able to choose his own fights and not be fed opponents, Manny needs to break away from uncle Arum but I honestly doubt he would even if he had the chance, Arum is pulling many strings for him and Manny likes it which is a shame
