I like Tszyu as a fighter. I actually think he gets in more on the eye test. People saw him fight, saw how powerful he was, saw how he dominated a lot of his opponents.

But his resume? Way way way overrated.

Ben Tackie? Sharmba Mitchell? Old Leija? OK thats the older oft-injured version of Tszyu but still.

He lost to an inferior fighter (Vince Phillips) in his prime. By TKO no less. Great fighters don't lose to guys like Vince Phillips in their prime and not at least avenge the defeat. Sure there are exceptions, but those guys have more quality WINS.

Again look at the wins even in his prime. Ancient JCC, old Mayweather, old Gonzales. All of those guys were heavily past their prime at the time.



I can count at least 4 guys Toney beat that I know for certain are better than anybody Tszyu beat on his resume. And Toney actually beat fighters in higher divisions. Good to great fighters.
