Well tbh i think if the Paulie/Khan did 4.5k this will do more and hell 4.5k for a brit/**** vs an Argentinian is pretty amazing considering the likes of Paul Williams get about 300 people and half of that is his family and promoter lol.
Khan-Maidana isn't sold out.

i dunno about bradley alexander being sold out ... it def woulda been if it was in st louis. but for some ****ing reason its in pontiac mich. i think ur gonna be able to hear a mouse fart in thereNot only that, but HBO put up more money for the fight to be in the US. I remember a Dan Rafael article detailing the difference of the money HBO was giving for the fight live in the US, live from the UK, or tape delayed from the UK.
Who knew promoters would choose short term money over the long term
.
I certainly didn't expect Khan-Maidana to sell out. Ricky Hatton had a bigger following and his fights weren't that well attended when he started fighting in the US. We have short term memory, but just look at the crowds for the Collazo and Urango fights?
It was until the Castillo fight, where he had a solid attendance. This fight had similar hype to the Castillo fight, but I'm guessing Khan needs to prove himself against Maidana before getting the bandwagon fans back on. Watch a Bradley/Alexander fight be packed.
it shoulda been in in st louis with the proper judges and ref
i am not saying go for msg or yankee stadium. but the fight prob belongs in the ballroom. khan and maidana arent big names in the usa of yet. khan should have been fanning the flames that he seemed to have built in nyc.
the ballroom of msg would have been sold out, and there woulda actually been some fight atmosphereComment

I meant Khan vs. Bradley/Alexander after this fight.
I don't know, I can't really blame Bradley. It's definitely an advantage to fight an opponent in their hometown, especially if there's a large, passionate crowd backing them.
The Froch-Kessler fight could've gone either way (I thought Froch won), but since Kessler had the crowd roaring every time he threw a combination or landed a glancing blow, the judges and people think it was a clear Kessler win. The crowd influences the judging.Comment

oh ya i thought u meant alexander bradley ... but i still i think it shoulda been in the lou. ya there would def be some advantages for alexander, but hes a draw there. this is prize fighting and imo as long as the officials are chosen fairly fights should be where the people are going to go to see them. if this was in a casino id alomst understand cause of the site fee, but this venue makes no sense at all
the energy of the crowd and the fight atmosphere would be worth some of the bias imo. but thats me speaking as a fan. theres no doubt that pontiac mich is gonna be empty and quite. and in reality its bradley and his promotional teams fault hes never built a following. cause if he did theyd be able to do it in his backyard.Comment

I agree and would love for every fight to be where it draws the best crowd, instead of small stale crowd, but I understand Bradley's decision to stay out of the Lou.oh ya i thought u meant alexander bradley ... but i still i think it shoulda been in the lou. ya there would def be some advantages for alexander, but hes a draw there. this is prize fighting and imo as long as the officials are chosen fairly fights should be where the people are going to go to see them. if this was in a casino id alomst understand cause of the site fee, but this venue makes no sense at all

Bradley's not the hardest puncher, so the punches he lands count less, as far as live judging goes, he doesn't need a crowd making Alexander's punches count for even more. I understand him, a win is more important for him than whether there's a big crowd there, this is an important fight for his future.Comment

no doubt ... but besides that urango stoppage alxeander doesnt seem to have all that much power to me either.I agree and would love for every fight to be where it draws the best crowd, instead of small stale crowd, but I understand Bradley's decision to stay out of the Lou.

it seems to me what bradley really lacks is ability to finish, cause he consistently hurts his fighters in matches. he just never goes off the gameplan to go for the finish. all in all i think a part of it is hes a bad finisher. i dont think hes in any way a big hitter or anything , but his kayo record is deceiving if u ask me.
i guess it would all depend on how close the fight ends up being ... if its close then you woudl have to assume bradley woudl get a fairer shake in pontiacComment
