marquez is a wonderful offensive fighter when people come to him. he's average when he's fighting other boxers like john or mayweather. marquez knows how to drop deadly combinations on fighters who come in on him. floyd does not know how to this. thus all the potshotting and trouble with guys like castillo, margarito or pac if he ever fought them.

Floyd attacked JMM plenty, but he was at range. Why let a guy get in punching range if you can help it?

Putting that aside I don't think people realise how mentally tiring it is fighting someone who picks their punches. That or they can't distinguish between a fighter who is gunshy and a fighter who potshots.
exactly...and the flipside to that is when you pick your punches(no combos), youre accuracy increases and so is your timing....thats the case with floyd!

did he? if he disarmed marquez he would have let his hands go but he was forced to just outpoint him because he knew if he attacked more he would get hit more. it was smart boxing but obviously a mismatch of epic proportions. he would never be able to fight a guy like pac that way because he knows how to not only counter attack but press the attack as well where marquez is mainly a counter attacker.

He did disarm JMM, JMM has no real answer aside from one shot here and there.

Floyd had his way outside and whenever he got in close tied up while getting off on the inside.

Pac is shorter and has way shorter reach than Floyd, Floyd knows how to properly exploit that range advantage. The bull can only take so many pricks of the sword before the matador winning is all but certain.

Abandon the tone that suggests that supports your argument.

actually that was almost all potshotting not throwing combos. watch marquez vs katsidis than watch this.
