Donaire does that to bait. I think his counter-punching ability trumps Montiel's. If you watch Montiel throw a jab, he still has remnants of that "bow and arrow" effect that Jermaine Taylor had issues with. Where Donaire drops his hands to set traps, Montiel drops his hands in bad habits.

Definitely, queloque, great point. I forgot to mention Donaire's head movement alone. He has great footwork, certainly knows how to pivot although sometimes he crosses his feet, but like you said, just his reflexes alone are a gift. I wouldn't be surprised if Donaire actually cruises against Montiel.

I've seen both(Donaire & Montiel) fight many times & to Me Donaire will beat Montiel & will probably take him out!! Montiel is good, has skills & hits hard but he's not hard to hit & he's been dropped a couple of times & Donaire is quick & lands hard crisp shot & does have a better defense than Montiel... The guy(Sydorenko) Donaire annihilated last night in 4 rounds was NO bum!!! Sydorenko is an bantamweight ex world champion(WBA) with 6 defenses before he lost it to Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno..Sydorenko has wins over guy's like Agbeko & Kratingdaenggym who were undefeated when they faced Sydorenko & became world champions after loosing to him.. & Sydorenko is also an olympic medalist(bronze) beating Daniel Ponce De Leon & Omar Narvaez in that tournament & also won a silver medal in the amateur world championships.. & his ONLY 2 loses(before last night) were against Moreno by decision(the 2nd by split D)..
