I disagree. Stereotypes exist for a reason, but nobody holds them all as facts. To use them as a guiding light you'd still be correct most of the time. -
Roy Jones, Terrell Owens, etc

same goes with football to basketball......when shockey started doing all the taunting and dancing they played it off as his love for the sport but when T.O or Keyshawn does it thats when it gets out of hand......
you guys really don't have to agree with me because i know you read it everyday in the articles about Mayweather jr and lots of others.......me i have no problem with white fighters if your good then your good but if your over hyped in my opinion i'm gonna say it

Yes, but where you live determains how you live your life, you cant go out side in the winter time in Alaska, pull out a couple of shorts, and take a swim in a river can you? Just how animals adapt to surviving in the wild, Humans have too...Originally posted by Dirt E GomezWhile I wont comment on how true/untrue it would be to live in Mexico like that, that still is not genetics. Being born Mexican in your eyes does not automatically make you eat tacos, work in the desert, have good work ethics, or have good stamina. These are all things which come from the way you live your life.Comment

Greg Leon of ********** is the only journalist of a boxing web site that doesnt talk down to Mayweather.
Also, the media hates Terrell Owens but neglects to mention equally arrogant but white Jeremy Shockey of the NY Giants.

Exactly, adaptation is a part of life. But by your standards let's say I was born Mexican, and instead of walking the path that you have laid out I did something different. Say At the age of 2 I get lost and am picked up and now taken care of by 2 wealthy american citizens. I'm still born Latino, but I would no longer be walking the of tacos and hard work.Originally posted by IwatchBoxingYes, but where you live determains how you live your life, you cant go out side in the winter time in Alaska, pull out a couple of shorts, and take a swim in a river can you? Pfffft, race has nothing to do with the media and public's disdane for TO. Nobody likes atheles who hold out on contracts or ***** to coaches, regardless of race. When Manning said he would not play for the Chargers before he was drafted people were pissed. WHen Rivers held out for the Chargers people were pissed. When Shockey insulted fans and threw water at them, people were pissed. Race has nothing to do with those that are mentioned, so drop it.Originally posted by ImSoFlyyyGreg Leon of ********** is the only journalist of a boxing web site that doesnt talk down to Mayweather.

Well, you have traits passed down to you, if you deside or are introducted into another Culture by choice or by force you begin to adapt to something new, and their is orginality, not everyones the same, but Culture bonds people together...Originally posted by Dirt E GomezExactly, adaptation is a part of life. Its all about where you live. I see blacks from Africa (Ouma) and blacks from the Caribean/Latin America(Trinidad, Casamayor) and they don't fight nearly like blacks in america (Mayweather, Jones) who use their speed to their advantage, footwork and defensive skills.
I've yet to see defense from Ouma or Trinidad.
Its just a matter of training not race.Last edited by BLOODSHED; 08-24-2005, 01:25 PM.Comment

The traits which are passed down do not effect you physically as an athlete. And culture does not bond people together if they're removed from their culture. In my last example is a perfect way to show it. Look at Angelina Jolie and her adoptions. Those children will not act at all similar to their biological parents or the culture they were born into.Originally posted by IwatchBoxingWell, you have traits passed down to you, if you deside or are introducted into another Culture by choice or by force you begin to adapt to something new, and their is orginality, not everyones the same, but Culture bonds people together...Comment
