Yeah, that's definitely a lot of excuse-making on Warren's part. First he blames other people for denying his fighters the big fights, then he says that he can make them anytime he wants, then he blames the other guys again! And his "it's the fighter, not the belt" excuse is bs pure and simple. Still, I guess he had to politico his way out of that one after your friend there so successfully slammed him .

That was REALLY interesting reading J !, thanks for posting that up...

I have to say that I actually agree with Warren. There are SOOOO MANY alphebet belts out there nowadays that the fighter or fight is more important than the belts.

To be honest with you, all three WBC/WBA/IBF governing bodies have shown how corrupt they can be in just the last 5yrs alone!

If Hatton fought Mayweather, It really wouldn't bother me if there were no belts involved at all. It's just the fight itself I wanna see... In my opinion the word "Prestigious" and ANY governing body don't really go together anymore.

The belts are just a crappy governing body attached to a fight trying to take their own cut in the purse too, and at the end of the day, yeah they do add a little advertising to the fight - i.e. billed as "IBF WORLD TITLE", but that's only something for the less knowledgable boxing fans to get excited about.

I just wanna see the right guys fight the right people these days.

YIP, at least it provoked a reponse tho, which is good and some juicy titbits in there too.

Keep an eye out for Ian, he is in my mind he best british writer on the scene, had a few articles published in boxing news and Boxing monthly and shadow wrote an article for the Sun national newspaper.

he is a top lad, and someone who has become a good friend over the past two years. Call it how he sees it and you knwo where you stand with him, agree or not.

            my type of mate.

I remember when Roy Jones said that he was willing to travel to Cardiff to fight Calzaghe for Calzaghe's super-middleweight title, it was all talk. Just like Hopkins was all talk when saying he wanted the super-fight with Calzaghe, deep down he knew he had no intention of actually going through with it.
