Put Cotto/Martinez at madison Square Garden and watch the tickets fly. I would be there.

I wouldn't mind it either for the exact same reasons, but you can be sure that a lot of people would criticise him for fighting someone who he already beat (not only beat, but destroyed quickly). The amount of criticism he receives is unreal anyways. That guy is probably the most exciting fighter out there at the moment and people accuse him of ducking Caballero (who just lost to all time great Jason Litzau, well well...).

You right. That fight would be a huge draw. I give it to Cotto, he's one of the best Puerto Rican fighters of this era. Although I don't consider him an all time great but he is definitely an accomplished fighter and someone us Boricuas can beat proud of.

Saying all of that I think Sergio would beat Cotto.

Sergio would murder Cotto easy but only because he's too big and Cotto is no longer in his physical prime. At this point in Martinez' career I rate Cotto higher p4p historically. I really like Sergio but he was losing to PW when he knocked him out and struggled with him in the previous 14 rounds. Secondly, Pavlik seemed to be better than Martinez until he tired-- and he didn't tire due to anything Sergio did.

Cotto vs Martinez would sell well in new york, puerto rico and vegas. **** if this fight happens it will do well anywhere they have it.

a catchweight for cotto? funny how his fans were saying it was wrong for manny draining cotto, but now cotto will probably fight martinez and drain him 5 pounds...martinez has said before he already had trouble making 154,thats why he decided to keep the belt 160 when he simultaneously held both jr middle and middleweight titles...i wonder if cotto fans are saying the same now that martinez will be drained if this fight does happen..if you can't make the weight, just stay where u at and fight guys in your own weight class

exactly,,i don't get it when people make these comments about how one fighter was losing and only a round and a half had gone by....there was like 10 rounds left, time to adjust and change strategy,etc...i don't care if a fighter is losing the first 4 rounds, theres still time, especially if the one losing has power and is constantly connecting, all those shots will wear you down and can change the fight in the second half
