[QUOTE=lopez36;9716654]a catchweight for cotto? funny how his fans were saying it was wrong for manny draining cotto, but now cotto will probably fight martinez and drain him 5 pounds...martinez has said before he already had trouble making 154,thats why he decided to keep the belt 160 when he simultaneously held both jr middle and middleweight titles...i wonder if cotto fans are saying the same now that martinez will be drained if this fight does happen..if you can't make the weight, just stay where u at and fight guys in your own weight class[/QUO
Martinez n dibella were the ones who suggested that catchweight not cotto and Martinez is willing to come down to 154 to fight pac..

I think the main issue is that Martinez and his promoter are shopping themselves around at a lower weight, nobody else.

Cotto vs Martinez, my 2 favs going at it. Throwback warriors doing their thing. I will favor Martinez but at 155-154 Cotto could pull it off. WAARRRRR

I read this on ESPN and it convinced me Cotto should take this fight regardless.

Said DiBella: "Cotto wouldn't be risking his 154-pound belt and would be getting a shot at the middleweight title. If Cotto loses, he goes back and defends his title in other big fights, like against Antonio Margarito [in a rematch] or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. If Cotto beats Martinez, it's a huge accomplishment. If he didn't win, he's still 154-[pound] champion and the Chavez and Margarito bouts are still there for him. It's like the Martinez fight is a free pass. Like he gets two bites at the apple."

Good fight but sucks that it's a catchweght. Please don't go the manny pacquiao route and win a fake ass belt at a bull**** catchweight.

I think he could. At least it shows he has actually LEARNED something from his past mistakes.

That being said: Cotto should fight Margarito. Until he beats him, I'm no fan.

Cotto should go into the hall of shame if he can't beat Martinez with that kind of advantage of Sergio having to drop five pounds. Martinez should tell Cotto to fight him at 160 or fuck off. But if he's willing to bend over backwards to Kneegal ******* hitta Quitta, then I can't really be mad at Kneegal.
