Floyd ducking Cotto/Margarito. Why don't you reply to
my posts? I am bringing all the facts! No opnions or
nothing.....
Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.
Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.
"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=2420382Mosley wanted to go back down to the welterweight division he once dominated after the first fight, but the rematch kept him at junior middleweight (Fernando Vargas). Now, he intends to go back to 147 pounds.
Waiting for him could be a mega fight against pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather would like the fight in November, but Mosley said he doesn't even plan to resume training until November.
"You know Antonio Margarito is out there waiting to fight Floyd," said Mosley, who earned about $4 million plus a percentage of pay-per-view profits. "Those guys should fight each other and we can fight next year. The only thing I know is my tooth is a little lose and I might have to go to the dentist."With the win (Henry Bruseles), Mayweather sets up a proposed June bout with WBC champion Arturo Gatti, assuming Gatti gets past James Leija next weekend. Mayweather, however, seems to be looking to bigger and better things.
"I'm told that [Shane] Mosley and [Oscar] De La Hoya are going to 147," Mayweather said. "I plan to join them there."
Ducking who? When was the last time Manny Pacquiao negotiated
or was in talks to fight top guys?

give Cotto props for fighting but he would have been
another win on Floyd's belt. Mayweather was the
champ of the division and Cotto didn't push for the
spot like he was supposed to. I think everything I
ever said about Cotto's boxing style came to past.
I saw all of his weaknesses from the beginning and
they were eventually exposed.

$7 Million gaurantee, $8 million gaurantee, $10 million gaurantee doesn't matter because that doesn't include the PPV revenue, at gate revenue, etc. that's just the minimum gaurantee.
All I know is floyd vs cotto (or even margarito) would have been HUGE but floyd retired and the rest is history.
