Its what he asked. Why didnt they consider Shane then? Because Cotto brought more money and wasnt a lesser opponent than Shane. Why Shane now? Who else is there at WW besides Berto? Im in favor of the Berto fight btw.

Fighting Cotto made more money but on 2009 Mosley was the best WW. If we want to get desperate, anyone at this point is better than Mosley who has shown nothing before and after the Margarito fight. There's of course Berto, Senchenko, Mike Jones, Alvardao, plenty of undefeated guys.

I think they were giving Mosley too much credit. Now they see how good he really is and figure, why not do another big money fight? He's just like Floyd. Floyd didn't fight Magarito or Cotto because they weren't big money fights, so he took the best big money fight available, against Juan Manuel Marquez. This is exactly what Manny and Arum are doing. They don't call him "Money" Pacquiao for nothing.

He was the highest ranked WW, best is a whole different discussion. If we go purely on standings though Mosley still deserves the fight over any of the fighters listed aside from Berto. I am completely against the Mosley fight, but unless Pac is fighting Senchenko, Mike Jones and Alvardao on the same night I dont wanna see them either.

He was ranked highest (back then)because he destroyed Margarito. Many thought he was back, two fights later and two fights before Margarito we can see Mosley is pretty much over the hill. With the Jones, Alvarado and Senchenko examples all I'm trying to say is that there are fighters that are not coming from a defeat and a terrible performance against a reality TV winner.
