terrible article if it is what you are asking. Very poorly written. Now, I do have to say one thing. This title at 154 won't be recognized by many people but it is still amazing that manny at 146lbs went in and destroyed someone who outweighted him by 20lbs+/- in such a fashion and that can't be taken away. If anything they could have done it for a diamond belt to make it more symbolic...But WBC don't care about that, nor about he was a worthy contender or not or if it was a legit fight. They simply wanted it because it was going to and in fact it did make a lot of money and they wanted part of that. So who's fault is it really? Manny? Arum? Roach? none of them. Actually, it is a absence of a universal body governing the sport and sanctioning it instead of the 4 big ones...WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, they are all ****. Just go back to ONE legit champion per weight and this won't happen
Great article: Facade of legacy: The tragic career path pacquiao faces!

You're right and it IS de****able how catchweights and titles are being used for history's sake. Pacquiao's a PHENOMENAL fighter, but they're bending over backwards just so that Pacquiao makes history. Sure, he jumped up to welter and beat Cotto (at 145) for a ridiculous "made-up for this particular occasion" silver belt. Puh-lease! But let's not knock him, he beat Cotto (which was the important). But then he does it again, against Margarito (to make "history") by fighting him at 151 for the 154 TITLE (where NEITHER fighter) was ranked. And if Margarito was, it was just a quick bump in the rankings so the WBC could get a slice of that pie.
It's ridiculous!
The reason nobody cares about the titles and whatnot, is because it's expected. Sanctioning bodies are so corrupt that titles aren't worth a damn anymore. Really. The casual boxing fan might say, "Hey, that guy's a champion! He MUST be good!"
It's gotten so out of hand that there are hundreds of champions out there (4 major sanctioning bodies) and then you have the special treatment titles like "interim", "super", "silver belt"...psssssh. Not to mention the other titles like the NABO, IBO, etc.
Horrible...again, Pacquiao's a phenomenal fighter, but at this point, I couldn't care less what titles are and how they're being given out like candy. They haven't meant anything in a while, and even less with the exceptions they're making for fighters not fighting at established weight classes.Comment

Lets keep it simple. Do you recognized Pac as the 154 champ? If you don't then you agree with the article if you do then your not a boxing fan just a Pac fan.terrible article if it is what you are asking. Very poorly written. Now, I do have to say one thing. Article states Pac makes a mockery of the sport...then goes on to say it probably wasn't his fault but his handlers. Pretty contradictory if you ask me.
All this bs arguing would be null and void if SOMEBODY wasn't on vacation.Comment

Integrity is a concept of consistency of actions, values, methods, measures, principles, expectations and outcomes. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the quality of having an intuitive sense of honesty and truthfulness in regard to the motivations for one's actions.Integrity can be regarded as the opposite of hypocrisy,in that it regards internal consistency as a virtue, and suggests that parties holding apparently conflicting values should account for the discrepancy or alter their beliefs.Comment
