They were at different points in their career. Martinez started boxing late. It's not an age thing. BHop fans should know this.

Antonio Tarver is the only real high quality champion that Hopkins beat at their optimum weight.

John David Jackson - fought Hopkins coming off a loss. No love from me for that one. Also had been TKOed a couple years prior.
      Dude

You are calling out Hopkins record

And you are backing it up with Sergios record

I'm not calling out anything and why would I back it up with Sergio's record? His record is not that good.

Tell me what is so impressive about this list at 160:
            John David Jackson
Glen Johnson (never fought at 160 again after Bhop)
            Robert Allen
            Antwun Echols
            Kieth Holmes
            Felix Trinidad
            William Joppy
            DLH

Glen Johnson is beatable by many. Trinidad's best win at 160 is Mayorga. And DLH never had any business at 160 and was coming off what many considered a clear loss to Felix Sturm.

Am I knocking BHop? No. He had a great career and undoubtedly a hall of famer. Do I think he beats Martinez? Yeah, probably. But I don't think it's some one sided beating like people are suggesting. Sergio is better or equal to everyone on this list at the 160 pound weight division. Yes Tito was better at 147 and 154, and yes DLH was better below 160, but for the others, where's the arguement?

Are you honestly saying that if a bloated DLH can win rounds before getting KOed that a prime and full MW in Martinez can't hold his own against Hopkins? Ridiculous.

I would predict Hopkins to win in a close fight. Not the landslide that many are suggesting.

Honestly have you seen Hopkins get hit flush more than once or twice in his prime, you do know that he went years without losing a round, and martinez is too small abd sloppy. He would get curb stomped.

Hopkins....and quite easily at that Larry. Sergio is good, but he can't hang with BHOP.

Dude you keep comparing records where Hopkins completely *****s on Sergio

I mean if sergio looked completely spectacular, you might have a point, but he has not.

Sergio has 3 fights in which he loses 1 at 160 and now his Vs Hopkins would be a "close fight"

NOthing has lead me to beleive this

I'm sorry, wins over Keith Holmes and Robert Allen do not wow me. Yes, he was dominant, but the competition must be considered.

Let's just agree to disagree here. You love Hopkins and don't think he has a snowballs chance of even getting grazed with a punch in his prime. Whereas I would like to consider his level of competition, and respect the fact that we have a quality and capable middleweight champion today.
