Who's to say that Hopkins calls him out after he wins? If Hopkins won both of those fights he'd essentially be putting on extra icing, it would be absurd if he could pull off both.

Let's just agree to disagree here. You love Hopkins and don't think he has a snowballs chance of even getting grazed with a punch in his prime. Whereas I would like to consider his level of competition, and respect the fact that we have a quality and capable middleweight champion today.

I mean if sergio looked completely spectacular, you might have a point, but he has not.

Sergio has 3 fights in which he loses 1 at 160 and now his Vs Hopkins would be a "close fight"

NOthing has lead me to beleive this
I think people are misinterpreting me saying this is a close fight. I totally believe Hopkins would manage his typical UD, but I don't believe it's a landslide.

What that I consider the opinion that our current and formidable middleweight champion could at least have a good fight with Hopkins?

What's dellusional? You have your opinion, I have mine.

Trinidad was a mere cheater whom was exposed and denied of his secret weapon just before the Hopkins fight. Martinez is another story .
However , Hopkins would have still won a decision because of the corrupt referee whomever would be would have ignored Hopkins' constant fouling which enables Hopkins to pull the ugly decision in his wins.
And yet Martinez is another smaller man for Hopkins to feast on.
But a decision this time , not a stoppage.

That's what I was looking for. From what I remember Hopkins was just a physical dude with a devastating right hand.

I think the biggest advantage that Hopkins would have is the fact that he was a career Middleweight when Martinez is not. Pavlik was massive compared to Martinez when they fought but the only thing that let Martinez be competitive was the fact he can do so much in the ring, he can lead and counter with both hands. And Hopkins had problems with dudes that wouldn't fight him inside.

If Hopkins did win it would be in the same fashion he beat De La Hoya, just walk em down till they can no longer move than start testing their strength and will. That's if Martinez would even fold to that kind of pressure.

                Hopkins wins easily.

                Possible late KO.
