It's no excuse, Hopkins is 45 years old. He didn't look all that against Ornelas and Jones, I doubt he'll look all that against Pascal. But Hopkins is at his best when people doubt him, when he's the underdog. He surprises everyone. He did it 3 times. Trinidad, Tarver, Pavlik. But you just can't ignore the fact that he's 45, about to be 46 in January. The man is almost 50 years old.

Fighters age differently. Hopkins might not be in his prime, but he's still not over the hill. I mean, come'on. He's coming off of three dominating performances, one of which was over Pavlik.

So for you to say that he's too old all of a sudden and that the win means nothing is BS. Because it would be a great win.

i agree with the whole post, but regardless of age, pascal is VERY beatable to me, and there is NOTHING dude does great. hopkinsmay not "stop" him, but he'll win this fight going away, IMO.

Hopkins last stoppage was 6 years ago agaisnt a guy that started out as a lightweight, and before that it was at least another 2 years.

What do these 3 fighters have in common? They're all flat footed, slow and they came straight at Bhop. Pascal is the opposite which is why he'll win. Bhop has trouble dealing with speed and movement.

4) Tarver - only reason he's famous is his lucky shot against Roy. He hasn't done sheet since that.
5) Pavlik - a tailor made fight for B-Hop
6) Calzaghe - Only reason Hopkins took this fight was cuz he knew Calzaghe only slaps.
7) Roy - A fight that was 7 years too late. He refused to fight Roy several times cuz he wanted more money based on his win over Tito.
8) Pascal - Why not fight Dawson who was calling him out for more than two years.

If this is close, Hopkins won't get the decision in Canada.

Probably wouldn't even get it in the US against the younger star.
