if Cotto beat Sergio in 155 lbs the main excuse would be weight drain. i will give Cotto a slim chance of beating Sergio at this point of his career though. i'd say about 30%. i hope Cotto take the offer.

It's a great offer I do think Cotto can win this but I give Sergio the edge.

Martinez doesn't make excuses. Also, Martinez is the one offering the catchweight, not the other way around. He can't use it as an excuse.

yeah Sergio has an edge. Cotto had been in a lot of war. fighting the best available welterweights the beating he got from Marg and Pac took its toll though. including a close fight against Mosley and Clottey.

martinez/cotto is a mismatch imho. cotto is too small for 154 lbs. I think arum is gonna proceed with his plan of making cotto/margarito II then cotto/chavez jr

Come on man, Martinez is now a large JMW, and he just fought Pavlik who could fight at SMW. And he fought Williams twice. 3 hard fights in a row.

I agree. And you could be dead right about Arum, although I am hugely surprised that Arum has not even mentioned Cotto/Manny II. I think that Martinez is on top of his game right now, and would be too much for Cotto at this point.

Cotto is completely shopworn at this stage of his career. Chavez Jr, is probably the only major Junior Middleweight name out there he can defeat. I personally believe that guys like Martinez, Pacquioa, Angulo, Kirkland, Martirosyan or even Mosley steam rolls him at this point.

I would love to see that match up but I think the way Cotto gets
hit, that Martinez sends him to la la land too, like he did Paul Williams.

It's obvious that these dudes are trying to discredit
Martinez because he is ****ting on Pacquiao.
