    I hate catch weights.

But Cotto would need one to keep it competitive.
Fight would be at 155, Dibella said in the article.

He needs this fight at 154 to keep it competitive, anything above 154 and I think Cotto is asking for a shorter career.

Cotto has everything to gain here. Considering he stil cares about legacy instead of easy fights to cash out and retire, this one woud mean a lot for his legacy for sure. Hope he takes it and gives it a shot.

Now lets all watch and see how the "warrior" gets a pass for avoiding this tough bout!

i'd be into it. I dont want Cotto to get hurt but i think he has the skill to make this very competitive and a possible fight of the year

i agree he has everything to gain and nothing to lose fighting martinez and nothing to gain and everything to lose fighting cheato or chavez jr.

The fight could be at 160 and it'd be fine.

Cotto comes in wherever he feels comfortable...rehydrates 10 pounds. Martinez comes in at 160 and rehydrates 10 pounds. 5 pound difference in the ring. With the styles of each fighter, the strength difference wouldn't be a huge deal cause they're both fairly clean fighters who don't wrestle a whole lot in the clinch.

As a Cotto fan, I know he'd obviously be a pretty big dog, and deservedly so, but I would LOVE to see this fight man. Go hard or go home, go try and grab the lineal MW title. And I don't think it's as much of a foregone conclusion as most. Styles wise, I can see Cotto winning rounds, and if he doesn't get stopped, he just may be able to steal it.

I get the impresssion that Cotto really doesn't want to face Chavez Jr. Not that he is ducking him...rather he feels it's a waste of time for him at this stage of his career. I would like to see Miguel go for this fight or a fight with Floyd.

Fights only legit if its at 154, Cotto at 160 against someone as good as Martinez would be asking for trouble.

Sergio has 2 realize that aint **** outthere at 160. He fought Paul who is almost 6'3 at a 158 pound catchweight. He said he could dip to 156 when asked about fighting Pacquiao or Mayweather. How about 4 Cotto??? If he can, then I say Miguel should take it. War Cotto!!!!!
