That'd be a pretty good fight there. I like Cotto but I think he gets UD'd by Martinez. When Cotto does that jab, left hook to the body combo a couple times, Martinez will eventually time him and counter with a right hook when Cotto goes to the body.

I take nothing away fromCotto, the guy has cajones and is a humble guy...it'd be a great fight.

LMAO at Cotto fans trying to get him killed yet again, y'all forget that Cotto even at his peak never had any interest in fighting Williams even at 147 now all the sudden he gonna call Sergio and get his ass beat again....Please.

like ive said before, Cotto wins a MW belt and he is back in the saddle for another superfight against Mayweather or Pac, plus he picks up a 4th div and another belt. Somebody needs to put this into his little chubby buddies ear. Realistically 154 doesn't hold much for him concerning money or legacy.

He very well could but I'd hate to see Cotto take another beating. If Martinez caught him with a solid left, we might see Cotto go to sleep no doubt.

You said it yourself...Paul Williams. Even Mosley avoided his giant @ss. If you weren't blinded with your Cotto hate you would see that P.Williams was a bad style for him. As for Sergio, he's more of a boxer than anything. Cotto knows how to handle his type. The problem with this fight though is that Sergio seems to also have enough power to KO him. If Cotto is up for it then I say bring it. Only he knows whats good.

It's not hate, you gotta be realistic about Cotto's limits, most Cotto fans are dead set on getting him killed by insisting he fight guys that are way out of his class. Cotto Mosley Manny & Floyd have no business fighting that man. Cotto has taken the most punishment of them all and gets hit the most out of all of them, Williams for his lack of skills & power and absurd style of fighting would walk right through Cotto and throw so much he would be doing that neck snake thing he does that lets you know he's been getting blasted. Regardless of what just happened to Williams, Cotto cannot KO him and he doesn't have enough defense to finesse a victory against that workrate.

Bottom line is Sergio is a beast, he could move up and fight the winner of Pascal Hopkins for a belt, or fight Chad Dawson. I think Sergio is big enough skilled enough and powerful enough to fight those guys...No way he should be fighting Shane Manny or Floyd, let alone Cotto.

Williams should finally fight Pavlik now, people were kinda into that fight when it was gonna happen and now with this train wreck around both why the **** not?

Martinez is too short to move up anymore. I agree that it's a good move for Cotto to take the Martinez fight. If he loses, he lost to a P4P contender, if he wins..... Good lord, every boricua from Bayamon to the Bronx would celebrate and flood this forum. (Not neccesserily a good thing). In addition if this fight took place in NYC it would make sick gate money. Everyone knows NyC is a Rican's home away from home, but there are also a lot of Argentinians there too. Argentinians love their athletes from monzon, to maradona, ginobili, messi, and now Sergio. Make the fight in June and the top blows off of MSG.
