No rule is being violated... The catchweights he fought in are still within the limits. He once fought over the limit of flyweight (not sure if it's accurate) way back when he was not yet as popular as he is now and he got stripped of his championship and lost via TKO. He never b*tched about it. He just moved on and moved up the weight ladder.

yeah it's within the limit,then why force cotto to come down? why not let him come in at the weight he felt comfortable which was at 147? it's still within the limit...thats the problem i have,if pac wants to fight at 145,144 fine,it's like you said within the limit,but so is 147 and he didn't let him fight there,he still chooses the weight

The problem with manny facing jmm at 147 is when manny beats him, people and jmm will say he was defeated at a weight that he is not used to. Even at 140, jmm will say the same thing. De la Hoya is going to say he was robbed again.

right but @ 140 you're still giving JMM a shot at the best catchweight possible. A shot @ 147 isn't realistic and is bull****.

Sergio started maybe at 147 lets add 40 pounds = 187 wow that a cruiserweight

Sergio should be challenging ademek or haye at cruiserweight instead of picking on a little guy.

Segio is better than Manny right? i love to see that fight Martinez vs Adamek or Haye without a catchweight.

It is kinda funny that Roach wanted de la Hoya at 147 (although he hadn't fought there in almost a decade), Cotto at 145, Mosley at 142, and the smallest of the bunch JMM at 147.

Why fight marquez at 140? the last time they fought at 130, Manny weigh in at 145 and Marquez 142 at fight night... Manny will only weigh 148 if they fight now so the catchweight stuff is just pointless... The cotto fight? Manny started boxing pro as a teen. Sergio started learning boxing as an adult. Hence why manny was able to move up and sergio not as much. If manny cant make the weight he shouldnt of even bothered moving up.
