The fight ended shockingly when Martinez used a single left hand to knock Williams out in the second round. Since the win, Martinez is being measured up against the two best pound for pound fighters in the sport, Jeff's nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao.

Williams lacks a proper defense and doesn't use his height advanatge, or his 81-inch reach, to win fights. Because of the way Williams fights, it was a knockout waiting to happen.........Paul Williams can make everyone [look like] a devastating puncher, if they could punch, because he's a guy with no defense," Mayweather told BoxingScene.com.

"He's 6'2 and fights like he's 5'8. What happened was eventually going to happen because of his style of fighting. He's always in the line of fire. He's a volume puncher and he wins fights by outworking a fighter. He's not technically skilled as a big man should be. At 6'2, he should be using his jab and making everyone work to get to him, and then once they get past him, then drop the left hand on them. But, [instead] he wants to initiate the contact and it's been successful for him, but he was just an accident waiting to happen so I wasn't surprised."

Jeff knows whats up.....some dudes thought I was crazy when I said BOTH Floyd and Manny would whoop Paul's ass....I got more heat for saying Manny would beat him more than I got for saying Floyd would beat him.....but I guess AFTER ppl saw what Sergio did to Paul they are starting to say the same .....good stuff from Jeff

What's your obsession with jab? Punch is not limited to JAB.

Have you ever competed in sports on an elite level? Now I'm not meaning this as a diss but this isn't uncommon and happens all the time. I know running backs that put on 5-10lbs and lose a step as well as Basketball players when it comes to lateral quickness.

While you can get away with it in those sports, boxing is about timing and being off the slightest can throw you off as a fighter. That comment by Manny makes a lot of sense because I have seen this happen, as well as experienced it myself. Dudes not lying when it comes to that.

again it's not as wide as you think. Actually Ward is just as skilled as Floyd and it will show up in future fights. Also Floyd isn't a complete fighter and has flaws just like everyone else. Stop making him seem like some untouchable dude homie...because that is far from the truth.

Why is Floyd having Jeff do all the interviews lately? Floyd hasn't said **** since Pacquiao and Martinez destroyed their opponents. Hes only been getting in more trouble with the law.

Damn, if only we can see these three fight each other....oh well, we can only dream.

Pac and Sergio is more likely to come than floyd fighting either of them..

no jab? -- rangefinder only so you could say that

                no head movement? ehhh
                no defense? ehhh

this is like saying Floyd has no offense. head movement, imo, is pac's main defense.

And ... you need to get floyd back to the negotiating table for the "man up" argument.

Damn man, I would love 2 see this fight but idk if it can be made. Obviously im talking about Pacquiao and Martinez. I think we can literally rule out Floyd from gettin' in the mix. Anyway, Manny 2 me can't go above 147. He won't be as fast. Sergio can't go lower then 160. I don't wanna see a catchweight fight. Lets go old school. The #1 Welterweight going up against the #1 Middleweight. 13 pound difference at the weigh in. Sergio comes in at 168 on fight night and Pacquiao in at 151. That's a 17 Pound difference just like the 13th. Am I dreaming 2 big guys??

The best thing that Jeff Mayweather can do now is to convince Floyd jr to come out and fight Pacman next year.

Not takin it as a diss at all , I've played basketball not at an elite level of course just in hs and semster at college along with some amatuer boxing , what I've noticed is that while you can lose a step or two if he were as great as he says he will be able to overcome that.

The fact is you can't have your cake and eat it too , he wants to be on his best tip top shape but on the other hand wants things at his weight knowing a person is not gonna be at his best to perform , that's not fighting on even terms, he seems to want all da odds and advantages stacked in his favor.
