Roy Jones Junior shouldn't be fighting Tarver... He's being an idiot. He's putting his life at risk to fuel his own ego, and to me it seems like a pointless exercise anyway. It doesn't really matter whether he wins or loses this fight.

I respect many fighters... But with Roy Jones it's different. There just seems to be a dirty odour in the air around him, and his actions in the past have not been that of an honourable fighter. He doesn't represent the true spirit of what Morales and Pacquiao did recently... Roy Jones Junior is a great talent but he's spent his career doing circus events, being arrogant and beating on guys that aren't ranked in the top 10 in the World. Yet he never steps up and fights any other man that might present a danger too him. (It's a little bit like being a bully, only more of an ego thing than being a bully).
that's fair enough. you don't like him as a person or a fighter. but i think of it this way:

he's been used to beating opponents easily. he then finds a fighter who he can't figure out, intimidate, or easily pot shot. he gets a good beating in the first fight and get knocked out by a perfect punch (when i saw it the first time i couldn't help but wince). he's lost a lot of his gifts that made him so elusive and dangerous.and believe me deep down he knows this...yet it was RJJ who asked for a third match with tarver. when does courage blur into ******idy? it just seems there have been many fighters decorated and admired for much less and to tell you the truth i never thought of roy as the type of fighter to stare down a barrel of a gun. i really got to give it to roy on this...he could have ridden off to the sunset and not look back...but he's actin' like a scrapper and wants some more. you have to admire that...even a little.

if he wins......OHHH MAN, what a good last fight to end a carreer. Back to bein Supaman. lol.
I actually think its a lose lose situation. I think casual and hardcore boxing fans dont look at Tarver as a "great" fighter, let alone champion. If RJJ beats, sooooooo what. Its going to be said, he beat an average guy in Tarver. If he loses, the haters will have a field day...Including myself..

He played the fight game very cautiously, his talent and his skills were unmatched, who did he duck, he beat hopkins to win the middleweight crown then he took on james toney and beat him convincingly. weren't these guys suppose to be the best in the game and they were beaten convincingly by Roy jones jr.
There is no angly to roy creating some kind of sneaky angle, the only thing he wants is his legacy restored he is one of the greatest boxers ever, to solidify his greatness he has to beat Antonio Tarver and Glencoff Johnson too, and a fighter of his callibre will do just that, he wont walk away untill he disposes these two guyz.
Good God. This argument again...Bhop was a nobody. I remember that fight cuz it was in my backyard on the undercard of the Bowe-Ferguson fight and Sharmba (that bum..anyway). And the word on the street was like, "Bernard Hopkins?? Who is that?" To prove my point here you go:
                Champion - Vacant
                #1 - Julian Jackson
                #2 - Gerald McLellan
                #3 - Reggie Johnson
                #4 - Sumbu Kalambay
                #5 - RJJ
                #6 - Steve Collins
                #7 - Lamar Parks
                #8 - Chris Pyatt
                #9 - Bernard Hopkins
                #10 - Jorge Castro
This is as of April 1993. Bhop was NUMBER NINE. Thats who RJJ "chose" to fight.

As of Toney, I know by now its excuses but Toney DID have to lose like 40 lbs in 4 weeks to fight RJJ. I would have beat a dehydrated Toney too....Cmon...

toney always had to lose a lot of weight. he had no business being a super middle weight. nevertheless no one bagged on it until RJJ made him look like an amateur. he was always walking around 180-190 and was 44-0 until he crossed paths with jones. and it's funny how people keep saying that toney's weight loss was an excuse while roy's weight loss to fight tarver was NOT an excuse...it's also amazing how people downplay beating a 28 year old bernard. 'too green' at 28 years old with 22 pro-fights and ranked at the top ten? the same bernard who was the undisputed middleweight champ for the last 10 years and made 20 successful title defenses?

                    hmm

You telling me that looks like a guy that just lost a fight fair and square?... LOL!... - It's so funny, It's almost like you're proud of the dodgey decsion.
Yeah, I'm sure Tarver, who has been obsessing over Roy for years (kinda like you) and who fought a close fight with Roy is going to admit he lost.

I don't try to sell my opinions as "facts" like you do. You are a complete tool. Seriously. Someone has to keep tabs on you to clean up the mess you leave behind. You're like a ****** on auto-drool.

I mean, we should believe your opinions on Roy are fact given that you hate Roy, have nothing good to say about him, and you constantly say negative things when ti comes to Roy. And also, all polls on every major boxing site I have been to have Roy winning the fight, and most ringside reporters agreed.

                    But yeah, I'm dodgy...

You're starting to sound like Juyjuy with your Roy obsession.

I don't understand the hate on RJJ...the guy was the best of our generation and he has quite a few impressive names on his resume and even the non-impressive names he steal beat them overwhelmingly. He made Toney look like a FOOL. And people say he was too scared too fight that German (or was he Polish?) guy...who did that guy fight anyway?maybe he was 44-0 but he didn't fight anybody...and who in the hell would go to germany of all places to fight..In summary, Roy Jones is the GREATEST light heavyweight of our generation whether u want to believe it or not .
