This fight would LEGITIMIZE Pac-man's claim to being the Junior Middleweight Champ if he were able to scrap out a victory over Sergio Martinez at the true weight limit or 154; that's four pounds up for Manny and four pounds down for Sergio

If Manny were to lose their would be no shame in defeat to Sergio and I honestly beleive that he could be competitive with anyone at 154lbs because speed kills and he has the corner to put the victory road map together. PEOPLE WAKE UP!!! MANNY SPARS WITH MIDDLEWEIGHTS ON A REGULAR BASIS!!!

This fight would really get Manny's fire burning IMHO. Margarito was SHOT and the insiders at Top Rank KNEW IT; this is the only reason that fight was approved IMHO. Why hold your head on a bulll**** claim of winning an 8th world title? Margarito had no business in a title fight and the historians will make note of it. Manny stick and move his way to a decision over Martinez and then he woud have a true and legitimate claim to being the 154lb champ.

At the ******** windows, Manny would be better than a slight betting favorite and there would be tremendous betting action. Hold the thing at the Staples Center if you want and make it happen in 2011
I like your perspective. I, too, hope Manny will fight Martinez at 154-155 lbs. But he really has to work hard at getting his weight and punching power up and speed up to par. More than anything else, I would like to see this match up to materialize. I am just being realistic. I hope Manny will consider it and start working at it.

Freaking hilarious, Team Pacquiao & Arum don't want Pacquioa to defend his new title against the PREVIOUS TITLE HOLDER. Here puss puss or is it Quack, Quack Quack.

All of you ***ggot ass *******s are too funny. Cotto was supposed to be too big. Margo is even bigger and Pac fought both.

No one was crying over size back then. I can guarantee you that if Cotto and Margo were beasts at the time and destroying people Pac would have NEVER fought them. But they were shot fighters and YOU CANNOT ARGUE THAT *******S.

Pac is the junior middleweight champ will only fight someone specially selected that poses no threat to Pac to defend that title.

Now you got Sergio who has stepped up his game and now he's to big. *** all of you biitch ass *******s.

Pac is probably the only fighter that I can remember that is loved by so many but considered to be a fraud by many others.

Bute should first fight Ward. He did not go into the tournament and needs to fight some of the top talent at Super Middleweight that some of the posters have referred to.

Wasn't Bute knocked out and given a 15 count in his adopted homeland....Canada, allowing him to get a decision.

[QUOTE=Iceta Lives;9647082]So let me get this straight. It's okay for Pacquiao to fight Margarito being outweighed by a big amount, but doesn't want to fight Martinez who probably wouldn't be that much bigger than Margarito was. Or better yet, it's okay for Pacquiao to drag JMM all the way up to 147 after his last fight he came in at 132 against Juan Diaz. But isn't even willing to fight Martinez even if he drops a few pounds? Things that make you go hmmmmmm. This is why I can't be a Manny Pacquiao fan.

Pacquiao started at 103lb and go all the way up to 147 lb and beat the hell up all the big names on that weight class! why martinez cant just go up in weight and beat bigger guys or sam weight at least on higher division instead of picking a fighter cant even make 150 lbs in weight? FYI pacquiao agreed to fight martinez only arum reject the offer not Pacquiao! :

On the contrary, I give Paul Williams major kudos in doing just that. Skipping two weight divisions in order to challenge a naturally larger and stronger opponent who was not only elite, in his prime but arguably the best p4p fighter in the world. Perhaps if Maravilla becomes old and shot overnight like four of Manny's five previous opponents were in De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto and Margarito then probably we'll get the opportunity of seeing that fight happen.
you applaud Paul Williams for fighting Martinez in a middleweight division? those guys are middleweight fighters. they already fought once. it was too close to call and the rematch was really neccessary.

the catchweight against Margarito was 150 lbs not 155 lbs. so it was ok for Manny how much Marg would rehydrate. Sergio can go as high as 175 if he wants to but the fight against Manny should be 150 lbs.

JMM was the one who kept calling Manny. if they were to fight i would love to see it in 140 lbs. so Pac is not really dragging JMM in 147 lbs.

so Manny should fight Sergio in his comfortable weight while Manny would be out of his comfort zone? is that what you're saying? u think its fair? Sergio can rehydrate as high as 175 but the contract weight should be 150 lbs.
