That is not entirely accurate. Paul Williams is a blown up Middleweight at best. He's no where near as physically big or strong as Sergio Martinez. Moreover, Paul's overall lack of size and power were perhaps his undoing against Sergio to begin with. This was probably why he was dropped in their first bout and eventually stopped in their rematch. Also, it took a lot of courage and fortitude on his part for even leaping two weight classes and conceding the physical disadvantages that come along with it in order to challenge a naturally larger and stronger man; Who is not only good and at his physical peak but in his prime also; Something that Manny Pacquiao has yet to prove against his larger foes. Williams could've easily taken the path to least resistance and just stayed put in the welterweight division to challenge much lesser skilled foes but instead he chose to assume the risk in fighting a greater one in a much higher weight class.Comment

LOL at some of these comments, why not move Pacman up to heavyweight and have done with it?
Personally Floyd would love to see this fight made, Pacman involved in a war with a live opponent at a weight far above his natural one. Floyd then comes in a year later and claims he's been waiting for Pac all this time.
Martinez is a beast, but Manny is pound for pound no.1, wouldn't be suprised if Manny beat the crap out of Martinez too tbh.Comment

Everyone is caught in the excitement of the one-punch knockout that was delivered to PW. Especially when it comes right after the B-hop black fighter BS talk. Give credit where credit is due. That knockout by Martinez should be a lock for KO of the year, no doubt. But to suddenly talk about Sergio as a heck of a P4P in the mix of Pacquiao and Mayweather is still a big stretch in my opinion. Pac and May are clearly 1-2, and no.3 is highly debatable and whoever that spot goes to, he is still a distance away from 1 and 2. P4P in it's true sense of meaning is "who'll win when you disregard the weight and size". It is the hypothetical proposition of matching fighters from different weight classes. In another way to put it, it's simply asking the question "if so and so were the same size, who would win?". These hypothetical scenarios are sometimes demonstrated when some fighters move up to another weight class to challenge the next higher crown. Here, you get a glimpse or an actual demonstration of what happens when two fighters that normally belong to different weight divisions, suddenly equalize their size and get it on. Typically, the smaller dude is the one who makes the concession to defy the weigh scale by moving up. Or in some case, to minimize that disadvantage, both fighters agree to a catch weight to even the playing field. Pacquiao and Mayweather have both demonstrated this ability to defy the weigh scale. Both successfully ventured in at least 5 different weight classes. They weren’t just successful, they DOMINATED. Martinez has also done so, but to a significantly lesser degree. In order to be considered in the mix with the top two, let Martinez challenge the next bigger guy (Lucian Bute, Andre Ward, or Arthur Abraham), give up 17 lbs, and break the man’s orbital bone.
