That's a shame. Paul Williams is big enough to stay in the higher
weights and make a big impact if he changes his style up and tighten
up his defense. Going down to WW is only going to have him not
being active because even after the KO, the guys there most likely
still won't fight Williams because of his size. I think 154 would be
good for him if he thinks he is not good enough to compete at the
higher weights.
Not only that but his stock just took a tremendous hit. Even though he's still marketable he lost a lot being KO'd like that.Comment

All this weight class jumping he has been doing is what wrecked his body in the first place. It wasn't Martinez that knocked him out Saturday night. He did it to himself by abusing himself over the years. He got away with it when he was younger, but is now at the age where the body just does not rebound as well as it used to.Comment

I like Paul Williams. He's one of the better fighters out there that is capable of going to war on any given night. But I never thought that he was this indestructable machine people made him out to be.
I picked Sergio to win on Saturday because of what I saw from Sergio in the last P-Will fight and the fight against Pavlic. Sergio was on a good roll and show true skill. I didn't know Sergio what going to flatten Paul so fast. But I'm not shocked either.
I'm sorry to say but Paul will never be the same again.Comment

yep. pwill is a big dude and he has the ability to beat anyone at 154-160, but he needs to capitalize on his natural attributes as well as develop his boxing skills.
if pwill becomes a real student of the the sport and improves his defense, it's possible he could hang with 168 lbers.
Very true. But I just read an interview with his trainer and their in serious denial. He says it was a lucky punch but I saw that punch coming while watching the 1st round. Paul fought a very dumb fight.Comment

Paul should stick to 154, that's the best he's looked at. 147 lbs is deserted right now, other than Berto and well...Pac, who is there to fight?Comment

I don't think Paul's body is made for a SMW, sure he's got the height and the reach but hes got a frail body, I really don't think he can bulk up, and have u seen that boy's legs?? freaking stick figure legs, he doesn't carry the power to hurt a legit Middleweight, yet alone a Super Middleweight. He should stay at 154.with his height and reach, and from what i can tell from his body size, PW is a middleweight and could be as high as a supermiddleweight, even maybe as high as light heavyweight...
so PW cannot beat guys his own size so he needs to go back to welterweight? that would be considered draining himself, according to *****s...
why dont PW try to go up to super middleweight, i think he has a better chance against the top fighters there, as long as martinez dont move up...but according to what i saw in his size and weight, martinez could easily fight as a super middleweight, and maybe as a light heavyweight...why these boxers continue to try and lose weight to make a division, then go back up 10 to 20 pounds on fight nite is ridiculous...there should be a mandate that says you cannot be 5 pounds over the max weight limit come fight nite...that way the fight will be as even as can be.
in martinez's case, without the catchweight against PW, he had to lose 15 pounds to make weight...if he had to drop 15 pounds to make weight, he shouldnt be fighting in the middleweight...he should be fighting in the super middleweight or light heavyweight.Comment
