uhmm, sorry but that is just boring... at 147 he is just the tall dude, at least try to fight Cotto or Foreman @154 or try Sturm, Sylvester at 160, Pirog is too strong for him... But please not 147 that is just boring... no PPVs for Paul there please...

pwill's trainer is trying to save his job. if the KO was a fluke accident then there's nothing his trainer could've done to stop it.

but the truth is, pwill's trainer should've tightened up the defense in training camp.

He should stay at 154.
pwill can hang at 168 lbs if he improves his defense. that's all there is to it. his height and reach gives him major advantages, not to mention his stamina and handspeed.

those guys at 168 lbs gas all the ****in time. they are big and heavy and their bodies burn up a ***** load of calories.

if pwill works on speed, defense, distance he can be a good fighter at 168 lbs.

damn dude... c'mon. stop with the excuses.

what you say is true for guys 35 years old and up, not anyone under 35 years old. the truth is pwill's defense is garbage that's why he got KTFO.

If i would be Williams or his manager i would try to get a fight with Cotto at 154. It would be an interesting fight and it wont be a mismatch but a fight against a well known fighter that Williams could win. But as a Cotto fan i hope this will not happen!

ok, for the last time, Paul Williams WILL NOT move up to 175 anytime soon, probably never.

Lets be honest here for a second:

                    1. Paul, IMO is a natural 154-160lb fighter who is just a light puncher, he isnt the first and wont be the last. People fail to realize that Paul, at 6'3 would be pretty damn tall at 168lbs too, so throwing him up in weight just because he is tall doesnt mean **** anymore. Should Ali Funeka be a middleweight just because he is 6'1? My thoughts exactly. Williams is a beanpole. Really, 168lbs waaaay later in his career would be feasible if he happens to outgrow 160lbs at one point.

                    2. His knockout isnt the worst thing in the world. Martinez got clapped by Margarito and he still is a great fighter. Tommy Hearns got railed by Iran Barklay. No one thought Martinez should retire after Margarito took it to his ass with no vaseline, so why should Williams (like some peeps on the board thinks he should do)? **** happens, honestly. I watched that KO a good 50 times, and everything pointed to Paul's terrible defense and getting caught while throwing a punch himself. I really dont think that punch was 100x times harder than the punches he took in the first fight, he just got caught at the perfect moment, perfect time, with perfect punch. If I were in the ring with Martinez, with bad defense and throwing a punch at the same time, and got tagged like Paul did, I'd be out too, and I weight north of 240lbs. That was a one in a million, flash ko type of punch that most boxers, and boxing fans, have never really seen consistently.

                    3. It will be impossible for him to go to 147lbs, mainly because no one would really fight him. Goosen is delusional. "Most Avoided" moniker or not, no one flocked to his door to scrap him at 147lbs. He moved up in weight to 154lbs, got better fights, but still couldnt secure a top fight. moved up to 160lbs and was supposed to fight Pavlik like 3x, but Pavlik kept backing out. At one point, peeps have to realize that its not Paul's fault that he cant get fights against top fighters. He's called out a ton of fighters and they wont fight him.

                    4. People need to stop annointing Martinez as the new king ding-a-ling of 160lbs division, and stop writing Paul off. Writers have called Martinez, after the Williams fight, the best fighter in the world; one columnist has already said that he is the best Middleweight in the decade. A couple of the same writers said that Paul isnt even a top 50 contender anymore. Bull****. Alot of peeps on this board, from the comments that ive seen, actually believe that. Crazy.. I still think he is a top 10-15 fighter P4P, and based on division, i still think he is a top Middle and Super Welter.. a loss, no matter how devestating, shouldnt drop you 30 slots..
