But Martinez and perhaps several others should be ranked ahead of the ridiculously overrated Floyd, who now fights on average once a year against old opponents.

      What do you think?
I think Martinez should be number one because he's beating better fighters than Pacquiao has been beating. Marvilla is number 1. Monkey mayweather shouldnt even be ranked at all.

Martinez had a win over THE Middleweight Champ in Pavlik this year and he just KO'd and avenged a close loss to a fellow P4P Top 10-er in P.Williams. All in one year.

It's not good enough to fight once a year and maintain your top spot. And Floyd shouldn't mind since he doesn't care about what people think or the legacy.
you can arguably say sergio should be ahead of manny also.what has manny done this year? beat clottey and margo?floyds win over shane is a bigger and better win than both the clottey and marg fight and the same goes for martinez his wins over pavlik and williams are better than manny beating clottey and margarito

this is what happens when you take yourself out of the game, boxing is like time, it waits for no one, so floyd being a side thought, side issue, and a circus act is his own doing.

he could've fought pacquiao, he could've fought a bunch of different fighters at different times that would leave no room for scrutiny of him or his career, but he hasn't and has only left us with stuff to scrutinize.

until floyd starts fighting regularly again and fighting fan favorite type fights, only then will he be the big star of the sport.

because it's not floyds boxing that gets him all the attention, it's his antics now, boxing is like third or fourth on the list now.........

if knocking wifbeater down to #3 will force him to fight martinez or pac, then I'm all for it. if not, it's a waste of time.

floyd should fight prime, dangerous fighters like manny does. not fighters coming from knockout losses

manny is fighting dangerous shane mosley in the spring of 2011.
