You don't win lineal titles by not beating the best. That in itself is a contradition.

Maybe you should look at the history of lineal champions before making that statement. By your logic Shannon Briggs was the "best" heavyweight at one time. And if you think Margarito was the best at 154...that's just ******.

Okay fine, Martinez has beat the best in 2 divisions. Is that really enough for us to say he has replaced Pac as P4P #1.... Hell no. Dream on guys, Martinez has had a great win against Paul Williams but lets not forget he already lost to Williams once (yes it was close but it was still a loss), and won a tough decision against Kelly Pavlik.

Marg may not have been the best 154 lber but lets not act like that division is stacked, aside from Williams and Martinez who are fighting at 160 Margarito is probably one of the best at 154

It is for me but it's all subjective. You might not agree but it doesn't change my opinion. I personally think beating Pavlik and knocking out Paul Williams is more impressive than beating Clottey and Margarito. It is what it is.

I think there are some confused boxing fans here. I think people are confusing p4p and just thinking Sergio might beat Pac if they fought.

Sergio might very well beat Pac if they fought. But he isnt p4p better than Pac. From what Sergio has achieved, he isnt even close to Pac, p4p.

            End the thread here.

              TS is spot on..

Martinez already beat Williams by dec.. but destroyed him 2nd time round too make sure. He also knocked out Cintron (watch the fight ****s) and humiliated Pavlik who was undsiputed and unbeaten at MW coming of a great win vs Rubio.

THIS FAR beats Pac pathetic run of Clottey/Margarito

It is also superior to Floyds wins over Marquez/Mosley

I'm not arguing with you I just think its more of the fact that Pac is basically a lightweight-junior welterweight destroying guys the size of cotto, clottey, and Marg.

I personally don't buy that Pacquiao is still a lightweight. Any more than Cotto is still a jr welterweight. Manny can't make 135 anymore.

Might want to check boxrec on that one.

Really? Humiliated him? Martinez got knocked down and if it wasn't for the two cuts that opened over Pavlik's eyes Martinez could have lost that one. Sergio won but he didn't humiliate him.

You forgot to mention the fact that Pacquiao was the size of a JWW in these fights while both of them weighed close to the size of middleweights and over.
