Why is it that whites are trying to claim latinos

well when people think about the sterotypical latino they don't think about guys like saul alvarez and edison miranda, they usually tend to think about thiago alves, rey mysterio junior, miguel cotto, those are what people would usually call 'looking' latino thus the name and movement brown pride came from

some latinos are white but its foolish to claim them as people or even the majority, you cant call a guy like sergio martinez or miguel cotto white who are clearly mixed(sergio with native, cotto with black), outside of guys like saul canelo alvarez there arnt many 'white' latinos or many 'black' latinos either, the majority are mixed with hundreds of years of mixing european conquerors, black ******, small population of natives on the land also who look south asian
