Which fights has Pac used that punch and what rounds at what time? If he's thrown it a lot, maybe its his punch. If you can't provide the info I've asked, maybe its not his punch. He's had to of thrown it many times before you can call it his punch.Comment

bahahaha no spoon, you're right.
that punch the somoan dude threw was nothing like the patented "pacquiao punch"... that wasn't proof enough
i so sorry
but he tried to copy Pacquiao's punch though, that much was obvious

Check out the Pac's recent fight. It's all there. It's in the Margarito fight. He has been doing it a lot even in the DLH. overhand slip to the side chin down. I Just gave the marquez video coz that was the most awesome. But he has been doing it a lot.Comment

"I knew I had the capability of beating (Kongo) based on what I could do in sparring. It's just something I had to make sure crossed over. It's something we've been saying the whole training camp. We call it "The Pacquiao," because (Manny) will step off as a southpaw and throw the overhand left. As soon as I hit him I went to catch him with the uppercut and I didn't see him, he was on the ground. I charged him a little too aggressively, I should have passed and established the under hook. Instead he was able to rotate and get back to his knees for a takedown which could have been a major mistake on other opponents like Cain (Velasquez) or Shane Carwin. But instead he gave me his neck and I train with Robert Drysdale on a daily basis. If I get someone's neck in the heavyweight division, it's over with."
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir talks about his stunning submission win over Cheick Kongo in the co-main event of "Penn vs. Sanchez at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, December 12. Mir dropped the hard-hitting Parisian early into the first round, quickly pouncing on his downed foe and choking him out via textbook guillotine. The win could push Mir into a fight against Shane Carwin while Brock Lesnar recuperates on the sidelines after stomach surgery. Anyone have a problem with him facing "The Engineer" -- or does another top flight heavyweight exist for the Las Vegas native to battle?Comment

I think that's perhaps a sign that Pacquiao didn't invent it. MMA fighters make for horrifically bad boxers. It's not me who is calling it pacquiao punch. MMA fighters named it after him.
At 2.45 the very slick Tommy Morrison throws the same punch with from an orthodox stance.
In this vid Rocky Marciano throws the overhand right while slipping to the left many times
And here is southpaw Juan Urango attempting that same punch and following up with a brutal right hook

Nice try, good effort, but that ain't the same. Tommy's shot was just an over hand power shot. same as Marciano's.I think that's perhaps a sign that Pacquiao didn't invent it. MMA fighters make for horrifically bad boxers.

Juan Urango's overhand left didn't even hurt his opponent it was the right that knocked him out. The Pacquiao shot is a one fluid motion Slipping to the side of the opponent while throwing an overhand left shot to the head.
Again I say one sweeping motion. Not after the punch he goes to the left side of the opponent. This is all done in one sweeping motion. While he is throwing a punch, pac is aleady on his opponents left side. Doing all this while his chin is tucked in moving his whole upper body to the side of the opponent. All done with a 'no-look' punch.
All I saw in your video are overhand left shots. Not the same punch.Last edited by Spoon23; 11-22-2010, 07:07 AM.Comment
