By some of the logic here, Roy Jones should be P4P 1-5 still.

Right. You can't put Martinez just over Mayweather without putting him over Pac as well. At least Mayweather had a win over a true top fighter that was ranked in a weight class. Martinez is either 1 or 3 for that reason.

But in my opinion people have way too short of a memory when making p4p lists.
Correct. Mosley>>>>>> Marg, and that's not conjecture. The proof is in the pudding if people care to remember it.

The manner in which you win is important too, and this win against a top level fighter is better than the way Manny and Floyd won but Manny is still ahead because of his body of work and activity while Floyd should fall back due to being so inactive.

Exactly, Manny dominated Margarito who was taller than him, weighed more than him and he did it in exciting fashion. Won almost every single round. That is slightly better than a KO of Williams.

Floyd is the most skilled fighter in the sport. Martinez is 2nd

Pacquiao is a distant 3rd, his defence is atrocious

Right. I forgot Floyd's last win over an opponent that manhandled Pac's last opponent was two years ago.

His defense has improved significantly over time, but perceived skill is only one facet of P4P rankings. Another is the work in the ring and Floyd is just not putting it in.

I agree that Floyd is the most skilled, and that Pacquiao's defense is atrocious and that Mayweather or even Martinez would make him pay for that if they ever fought, but their wins are kind of overshadowing Floyd's right now.

P4P rankings are about right now not lifetime achievements like someone in this thread mentioned.

                    1. Pac

                    2. Martinez

                    3. Mayweather

Martinez is transgressing the weight barriers and dominating opponents with big size advantages over him.
