And that's all it is supposed to be about. What Bernard said is
not obsurd in the least but a fact. why is everyone getting so
    offended by it?

Remember when Pacquiao fought Erik Morales and not Zahir Raheem who beat Morales?
It realy sucks when people bring the whole Raheem thing up...why did Floyd still fight Zab when he lost to Baldomir...

Shane can beat him too if he implores the B-Hop style he used against Margarito along with his speed and power. These days whenever a black person says anything regarding race, whites try to spin it as paranoia or 'reverse racism'. Trying to rationalize what Hopkins said when you're blinded by being offended won't help you see the truth. Look at it this way, all fighters have dodged a certain type of boxer for some reason or another. I'm not going to sit here and say Mayweather hasn't dodged aggressive, relentless destroyers in their prime because those make for tough fights. Most of them happened to be of Latino descent. People just never thought of it in that sense, that Latino fighters traditionally are come forward, hard punching destroyers with a few exceptions in a guy like Marquez, Cotto, or Martinez. Pac IS avoiding slick boxers. They try to hide behind followings and marketability, but who in the hell knew Josh Clottey? Arum knows that Pac can fill a stadium singing Karaoke by himself so to say that he can't fill it with him fighting Berto, Shane, or Tim Bradley is B.S. Pac is dodging the slick counter punchers because as Marquez has shown us, they give him problems.
Years huh? So when was Pac at WW to face a Berto (PPV worthy?) P-Willy (floating between WW/MW) and last I checked....he's been negotiating the better part of the last year to fight Floyd....

Floyd also doesn't fight certain fighters why? Because they aren't "PPV" worthy...

So Manny should've fought Nate Campbell....Zaheer Raheem (monkey wrench in the Morales/Pac scheme)....Chop Chop....and I guess per your words...he shouldn't have fought Zab Judah....which IMO would've been Pac's hardest TEST to date. Especially if it would've happened after the 2nd JMM fight...but Zab was trying to **** with the big boys a division or 2 above.

Ok let's take out Zahir but what about:

Campbell who was the man @135 at the time
Bradley who was the man @ 140
Mosley who was the man @ 147

              Leave it alone dude.

Hopkins is just full of it. Some people talks because they like to talk... and Bernard Hopkins is one of them. He should also be saying that Manny Pacquiao is dodging Japanese top rated boxers or Iranian top rated boxers or Samoan boxers or even gay boxers. If you have nothing good to say, then keep your mouth shut.

Lately, there's been more and more trying to put down Pac's accomplishments. Another item worth noting is that those discrediting Pacquiao are African-Americans. Look around (youtube and other sites). More aggressive postings from haters. I can sense that the insecurity button has been pushed. The insecurity that another African-American, someone who is suppose to be in the running for the No.1 P4P spot is being called out and appears to be dodging. So in return, as a defensive instinct, they resort to discrediting and finding ideas to make a case.
I noticed this, too, on Youtube. Most of the so-called "analyses" from African-Americans tend to marginalize Pac's achievements. Basically what they're saying is that they can't give Pac his due credit because he's not black. Here's one from after the Marg fight:

funny how some seem to attempt to defend ignorant words out of an ignorant fool. It wouldn't matter if it was a mexican saying something ****** in a similar matter, or a puertorican, or a philipino or a white european. Just because it is of your same ethnic group, you shouldn't defend a person when it's wrong. Be more intelligent than that and realize that when Bhop does things like this, all it does is make people like him and people who agree with him look bad in the face of others. Try to be a little bit more individual and don't follow someone JUST because he is of your same ethnic group
