And they are absolutely right to do so. You should aways stand-by your own. It's the natural, normal, healthy thing to do.

White's are the only people who don't do this - although we used to. The reason we no longer do this is because a deliberate attempt to strip us of our identity, in order to create a global government, was successfully orchestrated against us. Thanks to the internet, Whites are starting to wake-up to this genocidal sham.

Although Hopkins is a resentful little boy, his views on race in boxing are usually right-on. Blacks in America do fight with a different style than most other people. That style is usually called the New American Style, but should rightfully be called the African-American Style. Most everybody else uses a variant of the Classic Style. This style is not better than the Classic (in fact it is actually worse) but a decision was made in the middle half of the last century to force boxing judges to favor it, effectively causing fights to be scored incorrectly. This is why black fighters were so successful, over the last half-a-century - not because they are better fighters, but because their style was favored.

About a decade ago others finally realized that this style was favored and started to learn it or at least to adopt components of it and graft them to the Classic Style. This is why non-black fighters are starting to win more fights.

What Manny did against Margarita was impressive, but imagine what Tommy Hearns or Ray Leonard would have done to Margarita. Now imagine Leonard or Hearns in the ring with Manny. It would be competitive but Manny would not be able to handle the combination of power, speed, and skill. Manny is so successful because he does have that rare combination that mostly elite african americans have.He even imulates them. I've watched him do the Ali shuffle a few times. What other fighters do the Ali shuffle besides african american fighters? The truth is, Manny should fight the winner of Bradley vs Alexander. He only has a few fights left and its his responsibility to allow other fighters to reach that star status by fighting him. That is what Oscar did for him. Mayweather has that same responsibility. He should fight Berto. This would spring shot these guys to superstardom if they perform at a high level. Then it would set up huge fights against each other in the future and the sport stays strong in the 140, 147 and 154 divisions. I don't think Manny is scared to fight anyone, but I do think that Arum is protecting him against these younger up and coming black fighters.Even if Manny beats them, he would not look good doing it.
well I remember gatti doing the ali shuffle against baldomir!

I mean, what is the problem? Bernard Hopkins is clearly
stating the obvious. Even Bob Arum agreed with this
statement. Aside from Manny supposedly trying to make
the fight happen with Floyd, he has not fought or considered
fighting any black American boxers. Before anyone says there
are no top guys in the sport worthy of a fight with Manny.
Shane was available and Roach said that Shane "Was too good".
I mean, you can take that comment alone to back up Bernard's
statement. Mosley was too good but Oscar and Cotto wasn't?
Now they want to face Mosley but at this point, Pac should be
fighting a prime black American fighter.

And u hate these FACTS, so u r trying to twist perception to be recognized also....u must earned it and not try to fabricate it. Whites have been known to fabricate history, to discredit people of other race.

This writer doesn't make any sense. He says Hopkins ducked Chad Dawson and and fought someone with a less difficult style. How is that so, when Pascal beat Chad Dawson and schooled his ass with an injured shoulder? I mean I won't argue that maybe Hopkins should've fought Dawson. But this writer doesn't make sense when he says Dawson has a more difficult style than Pascal.

Sugar Q is back! I agree race does have a lot to do with everything but I disagree with your assessment of blacks sticking with blacks. I'm black and white for one thing, another thing is I'm a true boxing fan. I picked Corrales over Floyd, I'm picking Martinez over Williams, etc. So I'm a fight fan not a racially biased fan.

Hopkins is referring to a certain boxing style really, one that Manny hasn't been in too much of a hurry to face.

Remember when Pacquiao fought Erik Morales and not Zahir Raheem who beat Morales?

very good point man. i was thinking that the other day. if the fight with mayweather finally pops off and manny wins, it would be a good time to retire. he only has a few fights left, and there doesnt seem to be a heir apparent to be the next superstar. i think fighting one of the young guns at 140 and 147, would help create more stars, or even just more bankable fighters. contrary to what some idiots think, a loss on your record isnt the worst thing in the world. even a losing effort, if entertainingly competitive, to pacquiao or mayweather would do wonders for the marketability of some of these younger fighters. hopkins has a right to his opinion, but i think the writer was correct in noting that pacquiao has been lobbying for a year to fight the best 'black'/'african american' boxer on the planet. hes not afraid. its not pacquiao's fault there aren't many marketable 'black' fighters these days, especially in the latino dominated lower divisions where pacquiao spent most of his career.
