tye fields knocks out fat replacement opponent ken frank in 3 rounds

ray olubawalu pulled out with injury so the canadian title eliminator was cancelled.frank weighed a fat 285 & has a record of (3-0-1).hardly a threat to fields.one thing i noticed was fields didnt look his usual trim self.hes been fighting at 255-260 his last 2 but weighed 274 tonight.when he fought firtha a 18 months ago he was 255,trim,fast & his footwork improved.he cut off the ring well & knocked out the tough journeyman firtha.tonight he looked slow & lumbering much like he use to be.he kept his hands down & pawed his jab like he use to.hes fallen back into bad habits.i hope its the inactivity & the level of opponent.interesting fact is sheldon hinton(local boy #4 in canada)was on hand & i talked to himafter the fight.he wants fields,stiverne,kielsa & a rematch with the canadian champ pajkic.hinton looked in great shape.he knocked out andreas sidon in 3 while the canadian champ had trouble with sidon & went the distance.fields needs to get back to what he was doing when he first moved here.the canadian heavyweight scene is getting interesting.im hoping for an all edmonton fight between fields & hinton.

to be honest this is not the same guy who fought firtha here in edmonton.firtha was a tough guy but hes followed it with 2 tomato cans & has gained weight.if he performs like tonight it wouldnt surprise me if he gets the monte barrett treatment again...hes back to the old awkward tye fields after showing vast improvemeny in the firtha fight.

i watched the fight again this morning & maybe i was a little critical...he didnt look that bad but the extra weight could come into play if he doesnt drop it.he did mix up his long jab with a very effective body attack vs the fat opponent.tends to paw with the jab to much & is very succeptable to being countered.i want him to forget olubawalu since he backed out twice.hinton,stiverne,kielsa are his top competition now.all 3 are 2,3 &4 in the canadian rankings behind him.fields is having trouble getting fights in canada.he should just go after pajkic now since he already is # 1.
