I think at this point Pac stamina and movement maybe
too much for Mosley ESPECIALLY since Mosley is not a
defense first fighter. The question would be if those two
stood toe to toe and duked it out, who would take the
most punishment? Pac speed, legs and foot movement
may be a problem for Mosley because Shane likes his
fighters right in front of him. I guess Pac and Shane do
have something in common. Both are dominate against
fighters who pressure forward. Pac showed vulnerability
against JMMwho is a boxer and Cotto when he boxed in
the early rounds beat Mosley to the punch.

      YEP!!

      Or Bradley at 145.
Bradley is slicker than Berto,so I prefer Bradley,BUT,BUT,Bradley might be to much fragile for Manny.
Dude was getting rocked by Holt and Cherry so a beast like Manny at WW would shatter his jaw.

Shane can still take Manny, he just has to have the right fight plan and mentality going in.
Do you think Naazim is not a good enough trainer
to get him ready for a Pac fight? Jack Mosley forgets
the rounds during the fight. Wouldn't use him if I was
        Shane.

B/c that's what boxing has come to, now.
right, pro boxing is certainly a business, but if Arum is trying to sell Pacquiao as this Henry Armstrong clone who's going up weight division to weight division taking on these much bigger men

Don't you think Arum sells his own fighter short by making the fight at a catchweight (abbreviated CW)? If Manny's your big draw, you obviously want him to win and be as entertaining and exciting as possible to draw fans .. that much is obvious

but I don't see the business sense in adding a CW to a fight that's widely seen as a mismatch in Margarito vs Pacquiao

true Margarito has the longer reach a very good chin and is 4 inches taller, but stylistically speaking many on here knew he'd get blown out and Manny would beat him to the punch all night long

so on paper it should be an exciting fight, but keep in mind Manny already is a pretty heavy favorite. And then you throw in a 150 lb CW further stacking the deck against an opponent who's already viewed as the inferior fighter in Marg

so back to the business side, don't you think Arum would want some intrigue going into this fight? On paper vs Pacquiao the most noticeable physical advantage Marg has is the size, so why take away from that with a CW?

again I understand wanting your money guy (Pac) to win the fight but at the same time (looking at the fight from a financial perspective) don't you want as intriguing and interesting a match up as possible

besides the argument that Manny wins anyway without a CW you have the boxing press with negative publicity that comes from having this fight at a CW, and true regarding the saying "no press is bad press" but if im Bob Arum I want people taking about how exciting a fight Margarito-Pacquiao will be not knocking it for being a joke fight where a vacant title is on the line at a CW

^I mean seriously, how many times in boxing has that happened? two guys fighting for a vacant belt at a catchweight. Only in boxing.

****** arguments have already came up against Pacquiao how he takes on Top Rank fighters (Margarito, David Diaz, Clottey, Cotto)

I totally understand about boxing being a business, and it's because of this why certain fights don't happen (fighter A doesn't bring enough money to the table/doesn't have a big enough name/isn't a draw/insert reason)

or other fights do happen: (HBO knows Fighter B can sell better/ Fighter B's promoter knows the right people or Fighter B just has a bigger name)

but I don't get the business sense in adding a CW to a fight where your top sell is already a pretty heavy favorite going in.

if you take away the hardcore boxing fans and were trying to sell the Margarito-Pacquiao to a casual fan, and they even had access to minimal knowledge about the fight being for a vacant belt and at a CW

at $54.95 it would be a hard sell and hard to take seriously.

You're absolutely right that sometimes in boxing the business comes first, but when it comes to Big Fights and PPVs

in the long run having catchweights and fights for vacant belts hurt the integrity of the sport

**im not saying Margarito-Pacquiao at 150 is some kind of criminal injustice
for me it's just disappointing that Manny got his record by winning a vacant title at a CW

and from a business stance long run, do you see this formula working? not much Team Pacquiao can do if Mayweather doesn't want to fight

but Top Rank has the #1 fighter in the world .. they could really do without the CW's.

            • all ths talk about manny having not wanting to fight african americans is all b/s...who in the lighter weights below welterweight were the top boxers when pac was still there? no blacks...they were either mexican/puerto ricans or asian fighters...only recently did bradley and alexander show up...
as far as pacs competition in welterweight, what to top afro american were there in the TOP 5 outside of mosley and mayweather? pac fought both TOP 5 clottey and cotto and basically won every round of those fights...mayweather jr is dodging...cotto beat mosley....if pac fought mosley instead of cotto, then people would be saying he was dodging cotto because cotto already defeated mosley.

if pac fight the winner of bradley/alexander, people would say he picking on smaller guys...if pac fights berto, people will say berto was over rated belt holder...if pac fights marquez, pac is avoiding black fighers again...

no matter who pac fights, there will be people will still be talking negative about pacs choice of opponants...i mean come on, pac has been trying to get a fight with mayweather for almost a year.

by the way, who were the belt holders in the jr middleweight when pac fought for the jr middleweight belt? hate to say it, but none of the other belt holders are african american black fighters...they are cotto and european fighers.

              • Manny is only hurting himself by not fighting "slick" fighters. This will be evident to the world when he and Mayweather square off.

Why fight Mosley? Entertaining, yes, but Mayweather already dominated him over 12 rounds. Enough with the leftovers.

the thing is, mosley throws wild and wide punches. and those punches are made to KO. those wide wild punches worked against margarito, but it wont work against pac because pac will be moving alot...i mean, you saw what happened against mora...mora moved alot and mosley couldnt/didnt really do anything to mora. and mora wasnt doing anything to mosley because mora dont have any offense, pac does.

if you've watched mosley in the past, especially in his later years, he has trouble against guys that box and move...he even struggled against mayorga, who was a margarito type of fighter...and needed that KO in the last round to pull out a win. i dont see how mosley was even ranked in the TOP 5 P4P before fighting mayweather, after having been beaten twice by winky wright and twice by vernon forrest.

since 2002 and 16 fights, mosley is 9wins, 5 losses, 1 draw, 1 NC...is that really a TOP 5 P4P pre mayweather loss? even after losing to mayweathar and a draw against mora, i believe mosley is still in the TOP 10 P4P, thats ridiculous
