If Pac and Floyd don't fight, the only way Floyd surpasses Pac is w/ a MW Title.

Then he can fight for a 168 title but come in weighing 158, make the fighter come down to 164. Vacant SMW title, there you have another easy title. Mayweather vs Miranda at a catchweight of 164, for a vacant SMW title would be nice. Miranda would outweigh Floyd by a lot of pounds on fight night so people will give him credit for the win no matter how crap is Miranda.

I wouldn't consider it a tune up but unfinished business with a great smaller fighter, atleast it would be a vastly different looking contest than what Manny has been doing, I like to see veriety.
It would look the same, I really believe JMM would get stopped.

Nah... 135 or nothing anything higher is just a waste of time. If he is not willing to go down that low then don't bother with JMM. Leave him alone focus on Floyd. or Bradley-Alexander winner or P-Will.

Titles, really? Who cares about titles man? I do agree with the thread though, but to a certain extent. All he needs to do is face winner of Paul Williams vs. Martinez.

I disagree, I think no matter what JMM will always give Manny a tough fight some guys are just able to do that.

I am not really that picky so if he isn't fighting Floyd it really doesn't matter they all have their drawbacks and flaws.

If I want to see Manny fight a boxer if he is not fighting Floyd, JMM is the next best craftsman he would be willing to see.

I would agree with this 110%.

In fact, I'm ready to give Floyd my wholehearted
appreciation if he beats any of the top guys in
the heavier division. Win or lose I would still regard
him as one of the best in the sport.

I obviosly trust you to put the wins into context, I bring this up because I recall you saying that pac reached hall of fame status by beating barrera and floyd through his work at 130, just wanna hear your opinion on things because imo there resumes are very similar, Im not going to rank them till they are finished but if I had to rank them now I might rank pac a little greater but theres really in it I couldn't put him ahead by a solid margin.
Yes both reached HOF but HOF doesn't really mean ATG, Oscar is a HOF'er first ballot but not an ATG.

Yes I think Pac resume surpassed Floyd. IMO anyways Floyd has never beat anybody as great and as versatile as Marco Antonio Barrera, To me a draw with JMM is just as good as a win against the likes of Ndou, Bruseles, Mitchell, and that version of JMM that Floyd fought. Because, of how good that version of JMM at 126 was. Matter of fact I would not even mentioned Ndou, Bruseles, and Mitchell. I would replace them with Chicanito, Manfreddy, and Chavez. Ledwaba was a really good win too if you take that context of that win. And, Pac wins against Cotto and Hatton are legit and the way he won those fights was astonishing. Yes I say Pac is greater by a solid margin.

if pac can't get mayweather...... i'll go with pwill/martinez winner.

i think pac losses but screw it. even a loss to those 2 guys is a damn fine way to end a career with a ****.

small ass guy goes from flyweight all the way to middleweight and losses then retire.

not a bad way to go out.

Has to be at catchweights though.

Well we just agree to disagree, if he fights JMM above 135 I see a wide decision win for Pac. Or maybe even a stoppage.

Pac should not receive any credit, it would be just a waste of time. And, 3 tune-ups in a row. Shame on Pac if he fights JMM above 135.

But, yea lets agree to disagree.

showing your boxing knowledge level here, when has floyd ever asked for a catchweight? Marquez wanted the catchweight not mayweather, mayweather isnt pacquaio the catchweight king, mayweather wants to weigh less than the limit, HE wWEIGHS LESS THAN THE LIMIT, he doesnt force his opponent to do so also, won his welterweight and superwelterweight titles at 147 and 154, not 145 and 150
