It is a better fight than any of Manny's fights since Cotto. Wouldn't even care if it is 147 since Manny is not a big 147 pounder and JMM tried it once against a bigger foe so he should be able to do a better job.

Besides why struggle for JMM you know JMM would say yes aslong as he got the fight, he wouldn't care.

Floyd won't be able to surpass Pacquiao in legacy by beating another WW or even JMW since he's already gotten titles in those weightclasses. At this point, beating Williams, Martinez or any other fighters at 154 wouldn't cut it. At 160, though, thats a different story because Floyd would have to accomplish something he hasn't already. A middleweight title with a defense COULD put him back into the discussion.

i think Pac is greater by a solid margin. I think only Roy Jones is the only active fighter that has a claim to be greater than Pac. But, I would personally put Pac slightly ahead of Roy.

But, if Floyd beats the winner of Williams-Martinez at any weight, he will be on the Roy/Pac level of greatness. Possibly surpassing them depending on how he wins.

I would actually not care anymore. If Pacquiao can be praised for it, then Floyd could do it too. Weight drain Martinez. Make him come in at a weight you think he'll be weight drained, let's say 152.1. I mean Floyd is fighting the bigger guy right? And he's too small for MW, so why not make it even? Fight the bigger guy but don't let him come in at a full weight limit. Penalize him $1Mill for every pound overweight at the weigh in. Who cares? As long as he's fighting such a dangerous opponent. I personally would like to see it at 135 and nothing higher. I don't give JMM any chance at beating Pac at a higher weight than 135.

However, at 135 it will be interesting enough that I would give JMM a good chance.

I don't know why Floyd doesn't do what Pacquiao does. Just fight bums for major titles at catchweights or at weight limit but they must be bums. Andy Lee at 160, make him come down to 156 and Floyd can weigh in whatever he wants. Hell even Peter Manfredo Jr. Just weight drain them to make history. Then he can fight for a 168 title but come in weighing 158, make the fighter come down to 164. Vacant SMW title, there you have another easy title. Mayweather vs Miranda at a catchweight of 164, for a vacant SMW title would be nice. Miranda would outweigh Floyd by a lot of pounds on fight night so people will give him credit for the win no matter how crap is Miranda.
