It is a better fight than any of Manny's fights since Cotto. Wouldn't even care if it is 147 since Manny is not a big 147 pounder and JMM tried it once against a bigger foe so he should be able to do a better job.

Besides why struggle for JMM you know JMM would say yes aslong as he got the fight, he wouldn't care.

yeah, i like how you never add the fact that marg was a nobody with no notable wins on his record, AND floyd was chasing (and secured) a zillion dollar fight with oscar instead. Floyd recognizes the WBC as the major title to have. So he'd probably pay Jose Sulaiman to strip the current WBC champ for "inactivity". Then fight for it against Peter Manfredo Jr at catchweight.

No.. Pac would kill JMM at this stage.. even at 140, which i think would be easy for Pac to make. Hell i would prefer Mosley vs Pac over that

Boxing is very much what have you done for me lately. which is why people crack me up talking about things like they are over and no one can change minds.

Aslong as Floyd is in the sport, until proven otherwise he can accomplish a lot if he wants to. I know he is going to need bread at some point and fights that appear tricky (though may not be all that tricky in reality) generally bring in more cash.

I still think Floyd will be around longer than manny though so he will have more years to burnish his dosier, that is a pretty big advantage.

Yeah, he can still accomplish quite a bit. Just don't know if he's motivated too. But if he did...and beat a Martinez or Williams (instead of some bull**** Clottey/Margarito match), I'd have to give him his just due. Not like I don't already--like I said, that Mosley win was quite impressive and brought him back into my good graces. That's a huge win late in his career. One more means he is one of a kind.

they should be ok with it. jmm fans don't usually whine before the fight... they whine after the fight, right after their boy loses.

I'd be highly impressed if Floyd was able to beat the winner of Martinez/Williams, I'm still impressed at how he was able to walk down Mosley and beat him up in the clinch so effortlessly

I don't know why Floyd doesn't do what Pacquiao does. Just fight bums for major titles at catchweights or at weight limit but they must be bums. Andy Lee at 160, make him come down to 156 and Floyd can weigh in whatever he wants. Hell even Peter Manfredo Jr. Just weight drain them to make history. Then he can fight for a 168 title but come in weighing 158, make the fighter come down to 164. Vacant SMW title, there you have another easy title. Mayweather vs Miranda at a catchweight of 164, for a vacant SMW title would be nice. Miranda would outweigh Floyd by a lot of pounds on fight night so people will give him credit for the win no matter how crap is Miranda.

I like the Cotto win for Manny as his best win since the Marquez bout. The Hatton was decent, the manner in which he did it was...spectacular. I think Floyd lost some ground during his retirement and Manny has surpassed him since. But the Mosley win was big and one more big win for Floyd - especially against a Martinez or Williams - could be enormous. I mean, enormous.

But is the SSM win a good one for floyd. We saw SSM against Moya the contender guy on tv series. On the other hand Cotto is still kicking butt.

He may or not be personally motivated to do so but I think he will need to fight due to finaces, if he nees money he is going to have to fight someone threatening on some level most likely. So even if he doesn't really want to it will be forced on him at some point.

Floyd is tough to predict though so it could go either way but I think Mmoney will end up keeping him around.
