I just don't understand where Hayemaker is coming from at the moment. He constantly trash talks and vows to clean out the division, then why is he fighting tomato cans? All Haye needs to do is beat Klitschko, no-one else. Haye claims he wants to be the best, then quit talking, SIGN the contract. If he carries on fighting these B level fighters it's not going to further his status at this point... Haye only needs to fight Klitschko to get credit, if he managed to pull that off he has nothing left to prove, it's SEALED.

I just don't get his motives. Klitschko is the only fights he needs to claim greatness in the HW division, no-one else is worthy since Klitschko has cleaned all these cans out.

I'm no fan of the garbage Haye spews from his mouth but as far as avoiding Chagaev, I have to support him on that. Chagaev is a B level fighter who's been recycled and beaten by the best and make no mistake, Haye's in a different class than Chagaev and I can't blame him for not wanting to fight him. He's a total waste of time but then again so was Harrison, Ruiz, and Barrett.

Now if Haye has plans to fight a Klitschko rather than Chagaev fine by all means avoid the guy. If Haye's plan however is to take on another C or D level opponent then Haye should be forced to take the fight. My guess is this is all just the beginning of Haye trying to sell the fight with Chagaev. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I believe Haye has every intention of fighting Chagaev and then Jones Jr. Haye's not afraid of Chagaev he knows it's an easy victory.

Chagaev has only ONE loss in his career, to an ATG heavyweight.

Haye has a loss to a 40 year old.

Chagaev has only ever been down ONCE, to Wlad.

Haye has been down many times.

Those are also Haye's two best wins, and Chagaev at least beat Valuev convincingly.

If Haye doesn't fight Chagaev or at least someone on his level like Chambers or Povetkin if he is not fighting Wlad or Vitali its clear he is blatantly ducking any serious threats.
