For somebody who’s an avid fan of the sweet science, there are a vast array of fighters that I enjoy following throughout their careers. Mayweather, being one, is a competitor I support because I like to observe the sport as a student and Mayweather dots every “i” and crosses every “t.” Mayweather shows no cracks in his armor, his flaws are at most kept to the bare minimum each fight, and he’s a type of fighter that the ring has never seen in its history.

Mayweather the person, I happened to think isn’t what he portrays to the media. Do I know [or anyone else know] for that matter, the type of person he is when there is no camera on him? No. So with what we have been provided by the media (press tours, 24/7, articles, etc…) we are driven to think by the persona that is shown through that. Personally, I’m not a fan of the “money” persona. Like many detesters, I find Mayweather’s antics arrogant, borderline embarrassing, yet at times comical. Though, throughout all that Mayweather portrays outside the ring, he’s remained steady in his words and actions.

This is where the line occurs. There’s being a fan of the sport and being a fan of a fighter. The fan of the sport doesn’t hate Mayweather, they’re just not fans of Mayweather. The fan of a specific fighter will have an agenda to drive their hate for [insert opposition here].

As I stated before, I’m a fan of the sport, some weight divisions more than others. Personally, I’ve never hated Manny Pacquiao the fighter, I’m just not drawn to his style of fighting.

I’ve never had disdain for Pacquiao as a person, though ever since the first negotiation when random testing was requested and Roach said they’d do it, then Pacquiao backtracked with numerous reasons as to why he wouldn’t, it made me question “why not?” Had Pacquiao took the “parent” route and just stated, “I’m not testing because I don’t want to”, it would have sat much better then his numerous responses. Then, in August and September, not only did Pacquiao make statements to numerous media sources, most notably doing a video interview for USA Today stating that he “agreed to all testing”, we come to find out, that he told a lie. Like I’ve already stated, I don’t have any disdain toward Pacquiao as a person, but he’s given leeway for anyone to question his integrity.

At this point, I have an issue with this. Pacquiao has just told a boldface lie, and everybody turns a deaf ear and in some ways, condones this behavior. Pacquiao is getting the “good life” treatment.

    Hypothetical Scenario:

He could go into a fight and win by KO or unanimous decision, you pick. At the end of the fight, when Roach is cutting Pacquiao’s handwraps, plaster falls out and hits the canvas… Everybody inside the ring sees this occur; the judges, press row, and those sitting close enough at ringside see this… Roach then picks up the plaster, puts it in his pocket and starts whistling. Nobody would question him. Nobody would say “Roach what was that” or “Manny what was in your handwraps.” Everything would be a-ok.

That’s the type of treatment Pacquiao is receiving. On top of that, it’s almost as though the general public is being spoon-fed “fighter A.” There’s a minority in that group that do not want to be spoon-fed or instead, just spit that Gerber food out.

So it’s not a hatred for Pacquiao the boxer or Pacquiao the person… it’s a disdain for the fact that Pacquiao can do whatever he wants yet do no wrong. The moment they questioned him on the throne, he simply played the king card and oppressed the people’s right to question and to think for themselves. Pacquiao has proved he can do whatever he wants through his negotiating tactics and his swaying of the boxing commissions, yet nobody else in the sport can do that. The sport has been held hostage one fighter and one fighter only.

I appreciate the approval, 1-2. Once again, I've been a fan of Mayweather but I reiterate that I don't hate Pacquiao at all and I'm not trying to paint him in a negative light, I'm just stating the fact that when it comes to the sport, Pacquiao has had politics on his side.

3 days should be enough for the arm to completely heal. I've had blood drawn before, and it will sore for the whole day, and I don't box so I can only imagine how much more uncomfortable it'll be for a boxer. I really think it's too much to get tested on the day of the fight anyway for ANY boxer out there.

I think 7 days is more than enough actually since Floyd's original compromise was 14, BUT, acknowledging that Floyd won't agree and I want this fight to happen, I say go down to 3 days and see if they can agree. So if Floyd wants 0 days, but Pac wants 7 days, then 3 days it is.
Assuming that Pacquiao is tested the day before the fight, Mayweather would have the exact same testing done, they'd each have sore arms. Just because there's no cutoff date in random testing doesn't mean that testing is going to be carried out until the last day.

Tygart stated that neither Mosley nor Mayweather's blood was showing signs of usage 18 days out. Could they have tested the day before the fight anyway? 3, 7 days out? Sure, but they didn't. The fact that the testing is random keeps both parties involved honest.

What those who have opposed random testing that are posting make it seem like there's some "hit" out for Pacquiao when in reality, since Pacquiao's clean, testing should be a complete non-issue. Kind of like paying ten million dollars for every pound over a weight limit one has never failed to make.

Fine that is 100% correct no arguments from me there. Now Manny and his team requested $10 mill per lb or fraction over for PBF. This is where people become hypocritical about this. The commission also has rules in place for the amount that they fine fighters for coming in overweight. So actually Manny requesting $10 mill per lb or fraction over is outside of the commission. So how can Manny say he will only do what the commission asks when it comes to testing but Manny is saying **** what the commission says when it comes to fines for being overweight? Both fighters have requests of each other that are outside of the rules the commission has in place.
            ouch..........

I don't even think Manny is juicing but at the sametime Shane Mosley passed the same tests with juice in his system that Manny has been passing. So why can't PBF ask for the extra testing?
the same clowns who b*tched at JMM challeneging floyd to a fight at 144 are now ok with pac fighting JMM at 147.

See here's the difference between you and me: You're a ***** so you you will stick with the 0 days till the end, and so you will never submit and give a **** about the fight happening. I, on the other hand, wants the fight to happen. So I try to find a resolution between the 2 camps, when what you're doing is pretty much NOT HELPING. Sad part is you don't see that one bit at all. If you sit there and tell me that you really want the fight to happen, but at the same time not acknowledge that there won't be a fight if the 0 cutoff days stay, then you're just a plain dumbass. You kept writing irrelevant issues that doesn't help with the cause. It's like talking to a little kid. 0 days is obviously an issue for Pac's camp thats why there's no fight, yet you say it should be a non-issue? WTF?

7 days cutoff = No Fight
0 days cutoff = No Fight

You seriously can't get that to your head?

Maya...but why does there HAVE to be a cutoff? Doesn't rational thinking come into play here?

That is exactly what i thought.
Maya- i see what you are saying and in the spirit of making the fight i understand your 3 day suggestion just so we can get the fight. hey if that gets it done then cool with me.
But in principal you really shouldnt be trying to negotiate a random test. I want the fight to happen badly and like i said earlier i never thought pac was taking anything but him making such a big deal out of this makes me wonder a little. I mean dont you wonder at this point or do you not care as long as you get the fight.

Most fans don't care, which I think is fine. Why should they average fan care? But then they should understand exactly why Mayweather does. I don't remember Floyd trying to negotiate ring size or the amount he would pay if he went over the weight. He just said, "ok" and agreed to it. That was that. With Manny it's 30 days, it's 24, then it's 14, now it's seven. How about...STFU and just take the tests because at this point you're making everyone nervous--even his fans who will never admit it on here.
