seriously i dont feel a single sympathy for him, He could have use this fight get himself in a better position but nah, If he had got in there and actually gave it a go for a round boxing fans around the world would have taken to him but what did he do with all the talking?

I felt sorry for him when his eyes started watering up during the interview

I think reality finally set in and this fight is one he's going to regret for the rest of his life. He fought horribly but he probably did work like a stallion in the gym.

        I hope he retires now.

Nobody chooses to fight like that. There's something not right in his head. He spent so much time and money getting into the shape of his life at 39 but was petrified of a much smaller man when the bell rang. He's not a disgrace. He's a decent and committed guy who found himself horribly out of his depth in a title fight and had no idea what to do about it.

I feel sorry for him too. Only a select few people have a killer mentality so in thay sense Audley is among the majority. Going into the ring with a t-shirt on saying "Keep some adventure playground open" shows me his mind is on other things, he probably had the mentality of a man who had finished with boxing long before the fight but again deluded himself into thinking he could win.

The man just couldn't handle the pressure at the highest level when the going got tough. Nothing to be ashamed of.

He was scared his whole career, no suprise with the manor of this defeat.

Audley just doesn't have agression, thats the problem.

He was a good amateur because its safer and less dangerous.

In the pro ranks, against a guy like haye, he doesnt have the mentality to take risks, thats always been his problem, it was always going to be the problem tonight, i dont know why people thought otherwise

Audley's a nice guy, I've met him, he has a nice family and lovely kid, he doesn't deserve the **** he gets from people.
So he failed on the big stage in boxing, he gave it his all but he wasn't good enough, simple as that. He doesn't deserve the **** from keyboard warriors and cowards like Hitman from Michigan.
He deserves all the boxing-related criticism he gets. A decade of hype, the £1million BBC contract, a thoroughly undeserved title shot and so forth, and utterly failing to deliver. He just isn't a very good fighter. He always looked to me like he didn't really want to be there, not a natural warrior like say a Duran or a Holyfield.

I agree regarding the personal vitriol, however. No boxer deserves to be called a coward or a quitter. Anyone who's ever laced up a pair will know it takes rocks of granite to even step in the ring. He's probably a decent bloke, certainly more likeable than the numerous thugs and criminals in the sport. He should retire now while he's prosperous and healthy.

I don't feel a shred of sympathy for him. His pathetic non-entity of a performance was as far from "giving it his all" as you can get without physically jumping out of the ring Kermit Cintron style. He deserves all the halestorms of criticism he gets (regardless of whether they be from boxing newbs or not). In fact this seems like one of the few times when they actually know what they're talking about, whilst you, clearly, do not.

At least he made Haye look bad for picking him. That's something.

He didnt throw any punches except for single arm jabs, of course he deserves the criticism.

I know he is old and out-classed, but that was a terrible performance.
