In an interview with Bernard Fernandez of Philly.com, Hopkins said, "If you put on tape, then gauze, then tape, then gauze, it's like a [plaster] cast. It's like being hit with a baseball bat. I'm giving out some secrets here, but you can dip your hands in ice water and that tape will, like, marinate and become harder. But it's only cheating if you get caught. Personally, I think Vargas' and Reid's people dropped the ball. Naazim did a brilliant job in spotting what [Felix Trinidad Sr.] was doing with the wraps." Don Felix was also putting tape on the skin and over the knuckles, both of which are not in accordance with NYSAC rules. New York's head commissioner put his foot down and made Don Felix wrap in strict accordance to the rules.

If the hypocrites can forgive Cheato Trinidad... why not Margarito??.... cause he destroyed P.R. God. That's why!!!! Welcome back, Tony!!!!

Tony is a disgrace. It's a shame, really. Dude has the heart of a warrior and a very exciting fighting style, but that's completely tarnished by this scandal.

He's also the luckiest man alive, being able to only get a 1 year suspension and is now having a mega fight with Manny Pacquiao. Hopefully Pac puts on a beating like Mosley did. That'll teach him.

Naw, dude. I pride myself on accepting the fault of things and people I support and for my own actions. I do not believe his story and baring some clairvoyant event, I never will.

There is no such thing as a degree or level of ethics.
The concept one would have to grasp is a principle of relativism; which in itself a form of ethical theory.
The idea of cheating is generally the point, and as our culture dictates if you break a set of rules or laws, you are being deviant, or straying away from the norml; this behavior would be considered unethical. However, if this were a place where loaded gloves, steroids and the use of drugs was the norm then it isn't unethical. It's all relative or the principle of relativism.
In my opinion, with regards to the issue and considering the place we live in, the rules, and the boxing culture in general; what Margarito did was unethical, despite his ignorance claim.

            Just dropping some knowledge!
