Approximately 16M viewers saw last night's "60 Minutes". How much did it boost PPV?

Well the last boxer to have a 60 minutes profile done on him was Oscar. So if we use him and his PPV #s as a model:
Ike Quartey( 2/99) 570,000- Oscar's last fight before his 60 minutes piece
Felix Trinidad(9/99) 1,400,000- Oscar's first fight after the profile
Now there is a lot of factors that went into the success of DLH-Trinidad besides 60 minutes, but it did introduce him to a much larger audience and boosted his mainstream marketability. Interesting note- 40% of Oscar's PPV buys came from females according to Bob Simon...
So Oscar experienced a 830,000 buy increase (146%) from before to after his 60 minutes story. No idea what kind of ratings that episode did (it was 60 minutes II) so it's hard to say what affect the show had on #s and how much of it was just the fight itself, but one thing is certain- Oscar's drawing power increased from then on.
Pac has many advantages young Oscar didn't- youtube (the internet in general), 24/7, TMZ, Kimmel, etc- but also a fight that may or may not be as attractive as DLH-Trinidad to the casual fan.
Just have to wait and see what the numbers are and then we can draw conclusions from there.

IMO I don't think it helped much
8:30 CBS 60 Minutes 3.3 Rating 13.966 million viewers
So 14 million viewers stuck around for Manny, major after thought

Its got to have been one of the most hyped media covered fighters there has been , got the scandel , 24/7 , and 60 minutes , going to be a good yardstick on Pacs PPV pulling power , if this does average Floyd will not entertain 50/50 .

I think it gained alot of interest from viewers even ones who dont follow boxing.
I know a good part of those viewers wanted to hear what ***** had to say about unemployment and the economy and when they say the Pacman article they considered ordering it but remembered they were jobless or suffering from the economy so they changed their mind.
Maybe if they slipped in some Tecate commercials highlighting the $25 dollar rebate if you order the fight and buy a 12 pack, that would of gained even more interest. People like rebates, sales, and discounts.. Just my opinion.
