There is no rivalry. A rivalry is when *the best fight the best*. WV1 was champ until 5-95 and Barrera became champ before that on 3-95. Their careers intertwined. Calderon was too small for Arce? Arce was a jr fly. What other 3 fighters was he too small for?

WV1 fought Canizales at the end of his career. WV1 fought for another 7 years after Barrera became champ.

Boricuas quit before the fight even starts. Lets have JuanMa(original 122) fight Juan Manuel Marquez(original 126). JMM moved up 2 divisions in one fight to battle the best P4P in Mayweather. Juanma can do the same to fight JMM. Rocky Martinez can fight Soto and WV2 can fight Salido. That's it. Less talking and more rivalry. Let's start a real rivalry instead of generously providing a farm league with the PR based WBO for our too old, too inexperienced or too weak.

Marquez doesn't quit without a reason. He barely threw the right hand after the 3rd round. And when he eventually did throw the right he did it one or two times in an entire round. He rocked Lopez with just one left hook numerous times. Lopez is a warrior but I rooted for Marquez and eventhough he was behind the scorecards he could still land that single punch that could turn the whole fight around.

What he's been through and given his people and the fans is simply outstanding.
