I don't know what Arum is promoting, I have yet to see a commercial on TV, there should at least be some on SPORTCENTER. I go to the barbershop most didn't have a clue, luckily I showed up and told them about the great fights these two months.

I thought this would be around 1.2 million buys, but the more I see the lack of promoting, the more my numbers tend to drop. What do you guys think?

I don't know what is it with Top Rank. They always promote Pac's fights as if they're shit (TBH though, this IS a shit fight). They're always relying their promotion solely on 24/7, the stadium, or word of mouth. In comparison, Mayweather/Mosley was constantly promoted. I always saw commercials on ESPN, ESPN 2, MTV, and other channels. It was also promoted on the radio here in Chicago on rock stations like Q101. I have yet to see a Pacquiao/Margarito commercial on TV. The last time I saw a commercial promoting Pac's fights was last year's with Cotto.

That's exactly what i'm seeing, then Arum goes on record and says 1.3 million PPV sales. He must be able to see the future cause sure as hell don't see how they're gonna break the 1 million mark.

I think I saw a Pac-Clottey commercial 1 day before the fight, now how do people plan for a Boxing event with 1 day notice. Bob is definitely hurting PAC's sales, he's too big of star not to get better than 1 million.

they should promote this fight CORRECTLY and not be greedy bastards.
yes, it takes money to advertise, but it will be a PROFIT if they do.

Maybe the PR guys at TR knew that this fight need not to be marketed strongly to begin with because of Margarito on how he was rejected by the NSAC and CSAC coz of the illegal handwraps controversy.

IMO they wanna keep it low so they won't get a backlash at people saying they're promoting a cheater who don't deserve a payday and retain their integrity which they don't know was long gone.

ODOH, if the fight becomes a success and garners 1.2M+ on PPV and grosses high on ticket sales then testing the waters with it without much advertising since Manny Pacquiao will bring in the crowd is always a less burden expense for the company.

Scumbag Arum really know what's up, and he exploits every bit of his cashcow to the fullest.

I would agree but this tactic backedfire against Clottey, They let PAC's personality sell the fight, the fight didn't do that well in PPV sales. Now it seems like they're doing it again, how can a fight sell if you're only promoting in Texas, So CAL, and Vegas. What's up with the rest of the country?

That Pac-Clottey fight proved a tough gamble for TR and maybe somehow with it selling 750k PPV and them meeting the gate ticket sales gave them leverage to try the ploy one more time, and this time they've got a better known fighter in Marg and the plot's more compelling with all these controversies surounding him and they would think this is a good gamble and prolly better than the previous fight.

What separated TR from the rest of the pack is they have the machinery to hold their own PPV and that alone is a worthy fallback credential for them.

I think a lot has to do with the fight being in Texas.

If they were fighting in Vegas, or in New York, then it would be bigger.
