Ali made me a fan of boxing at such a young age, we are of the same age but i could recall that Ali was up in most of the rounds and i know he was playing George since round 1. Ali's plan was to capitalize on George's questionable endurance, Ali made George work on every single round until Foreman cannot lift his arms anymore...

Must've been one of those myths my dad told me

Also take a look at the David Haye- Carl Thompson fight. Has a sort of resemblence.

I thought the same thing until I actually watched the fight. Ali was hitting Foreman with clean hard shots throughout the fight. Foreman obviously had no respect for Ali's punching power and he paid for it because those punches add up. As Jim Brown pointed out early in the fight.

If people talk like Ali was taking some huge beating, it's probably because NO ONE expected him to sit on the ropes and if he told people he was going to do that they would have thought he was suicidal.

I'm sure Ali was sore as all hell after that fight, but he had the fight under complete control at all times.

Why don't you ever provide commentary on the boxing's CURRENT events?

Is boxing really that dead to you?

He did dominate the fight. Once it became clear that laying on the ropes was a strategic move, and that Ali was the only one landing clean effective punches, it was easy to score the rounds for him.

Oh I wasn't criticizing you, I was just implying that it would be nice to have an opinion from an actual boxing voice in some of these threads.
