If he mastered boxing as well as he mastered Jeet Kune Do I could see him as a great champ. Smoke a duby and watch his movies then tell me he could not really scrap.

i met chuck norris at a tourney once and we got to talking about bruce. he said when he trained he went full out and everytime him, mike stone and joe lewis (all circuit champins in their prime) were to spar bruce bruce would always chase them out with leg kicks, quick back fists and straights...gene labell (america's recognized grappling greats) worked out with bruce on his ground game.

there was nothing mystical or phenominal about him...he trained hard and was obsessed with fightingg and fighting theories..and it showed. as to how bruce would fare against MMA guys of today?...i wouldn't know since the martial arts are always evolving...but i can tell you he was one of the pioneers that advocated mixed martial arts....

You will get good karma for your educated civilized and un elementary opinion.

unlike that bully who fights smaller guys and brags about it, who automatically said bruce aint **** basically.

I like bruce lee a lot, he's an intellectual person but I just don't think he could be a great boxer maybe in kickboxing he would do just fine, but not boxing.

All depends. If he trained long enough and hard enough in boxing, who knows? There's no evidence either way. He definitely had the physical capablities to pose a threat with his hands, and he definitely appreciated the concepts of the sport. A lot of JKD involves boxing punches and footwork.
