He sure had talent and skill but when people start making crazy assumptions that he would be a good boxer or dominate MMA you have to put them in their place.

You are an idiot, so stop putting Bruce Lee down. He fought as a pro for a very short time, when he was the champion at age 18 in China. They didn't taped the fights at China at that time. Everyone knows Bruce Lee had many street fights & never lost a fight. I clearly told you buy the book from the greatest kick boxer of all time Joe Lewis & you will find out a little more about Bruce Lee. Lee had the strongest kick ever, he could've killed you with one kick to the stomach.

Here check this link & buy the book. The greatest kick boxer of all time was a student of Bruce Lee, now STFU. You've been owned again.

i know for a fact bruce never competed but he did train many world champions
                    in boxing and martial arts

i think he would have been a great boxer
                    his training dedication and willingness
to be the best is enough right there
for the fact he studied and was a philosipher
on fighting and trainign would make him even better

plus he was well versitile in other styles
he was very powerfull and prob could knock heavyweights
                    out
to the comment made earleir about byrd not
                    knocking people out with gloves
                    byrd can knock hws out
byrd jsut dont try to knock guys out
he is about points and counter punching

                    i read awhile ago about
how bruce sparred with joe louis a few times and louis
                    couldnt even touch him
and bruce was able to get inside anytime he wants

                      Great counter-argument.

Anyone who doesn't realize what Bruce did for martial arts is just ignorant. Anyone who claims Bruce was just an actor is ingorant.

Bruce Lee brought Kungfu to America. What I'm about to tell you is WELL DOCUMENTED. No video, just plenty of witnesses and writetn accounts, and doing any simple research on the subject will prove it.

When Bruce came to America, he had little to no money in his pocket. He had previously been trained in Kung Fu by a man named Yip Man, the highest regarded instructor in all of China. To make money, he opened up the first(or pretty damn close) Kung Fu dojo in America, and began teaching westerners. The Chinese Kung Fu committee was outraged at this, and made a deal. They would send over a representative. If Bruce beat him, they would allow him to teach. If not, he had to close his school down and never reopen it again.

So the man comes over, Bruce beats him after a long fight, but was so upset with his performance that he decided to throw away the traditional forms of Kung Fu which he referred to as a "traditional mess". This led to the discovery and creation of Jeet Kun Do(Way of the Intercepting Fist).

JKD borrows the most effective elements of grappling, boxing, kung fu, Kali, Muay Thai, Pancration, Savate, and many others. This was the beginning of MMA in America. Anyone who watches UFC today should praise Bruce Lee for bringing cross-training into the country.

So who knows what he would have done in no-holds barred competition? There were no full contact fights being held in the states when Bruce was alive. There was no UFC. Where was he supposed to record these fights that everyone seems to need in order to judge his ability? Just walk up to people on the street with a camera in his hand? Chuck Norris sparred with Bruce and lost in 13 seconds and that came from his own mouth. Muhammad Ali and Bruce higly regarded one another, Ali was a black belt. Joe Lewis was a student of his, who once said "Bruce was the fastest man to ever stand in front of me", and "He had the speed and power to be a world class boxer." Dan Inosanto was a student of his. What else do you need? Nobodi'es claiming that he would have been anything, just that he had the ability to do so.

The man created MMA as it is today. There would be no such thing as a hybrid fighter if Bruce Lee hadn't been the first.

This is why people will tell you that Bruce Lee revolutionized martial arts. It doesn't matter what he would have done in UFC. And Bruce wasn't a boxer, so putting gloves on his hands would have been like taking the pen out a writer's.

Bruce Lee is a legend in the martial arts community, and there is damn good reason for that. He was a martial artist first, and an actor second. He had one of the most rigorous training schedules of anyone alive. He pushed his physical ability to its maximum potential, and was OBSESSED with pushing it even further.

Here was his training schedule, from his book Tao of Jeet Kune Do.

                      5) Squat
                      6) Shrug
                      7) Deadlift
                      8) Quarter Squat
                      9) Frog Kick

I'd say that's about as complete a total body workout that anyone's gonna get. Presses, Deadlifts, Curls, Squats, upper/lower body Stretching/flexibilty training, forearm strengthening, Quad strengthening, wrist strengthening, back stretching... I'd say he would have been in shape to compete with most anyone.
