    bruce lee as boxer

tell me what you think. i say that if bruce lee had trained as a professional boxer from say the age of 12 rather than a martial artist, he would have been regarded as one of the all time greats.

a little history: born in 1940, height 5-7, weight between 126 and 145. against the likes of say sugar ramos who was THE fighter at featherweight up to lightweight between 1963-1967, where would bruce end up? consdier bruce's speed, strength and power.

    tell me what you think.

I really don't know. He surley had the natural abilities and the dedication but that if in your question is just too big to answer you question.

I have never seen any footage of a real fight from Bruce Lee and I believe that there exists none. He started a revolution of martial arts when he created JKD but that doesn't necessairly make him an All Time Great as a boxer.

It is very hard to say; the two sports are so different...

If Byrd fought without gloves, he would have been a KO specialst...

Bruce Li fighting in gloves could have had no KO power...

Bruce Lee was no Jackie Chan. The things he did were mostly real. He started with WT, created a new art, brought the idea of mixing several martial arts to live and trained a lot of great fighters. Not bad for an actor, huh?

He was well-versed in martial arts, and just think, if he channeled the same energy and force to the sport of boxing...I say that he would have been a great featherweight-lightweight pugilist. He was well-disciplined, had a treacherous training/conditioning regimen, and (though we only saw it in the movies) he had a tenacity/mean streak that would rival any fighter today. If he had all of those attributes and made the switch to pugilism, he would have been fierce.
